Well for the bowlers it was an average season. To many bloody batting decks these days prepared by power hungry captains who all seem to be batsman.
Never the less we've steam rolled our way into the finals. Just thought I'd put up the final bowling wickets and averages before we hit finals.
Dipper 29 @ 32.79
Not a bad year by Dip. Clearly the game has just about gone past him as seen by him by him pitching outside leg stump constantly in an effort to make sure the batsman can't get hit him and hurt the average. 29 for the season doesn't even equal to 2 an innings but hey good on him for trying.
Deestroy 36 @ 37.13
First glance suggests thats not a bad effort. 36 wickets means he's not a bad spear head. Of course when most of your wickets come from batsman being caught deep, because they've slashed the willow at you in an effort to bring up the 15th boundary of your bowling in that innings then clearly your average will always be high.
StFly 28 @ 47.25
Poor season by the all rounder really. 28 wickets is a good amount, ironically nearly as much as our washed up hack, but far to lose with his line and length. To be fair his average wouldn't be the worst in the side if Dip stopped pitching them down the leg side.

Fair to say I've carried this pitiful attack the entire season. Consistently pitching it just outside off drawing the batsman into the edge to first slip. Only bowler to average 2 wickets an innings. My biggest downfall was I'd have a batsman on the back foot, confidence completely shot and the skipper would pull me out of the attack. Therefore allowing the batter to tee off against everyone else before pulling me back into the attack to save face.

Probably have to wait for next season starts to get a game as we are about to start finals and are top of the ladder as well and you don't mess with a winning combination.

Lucky for you me and Dip are able to keep the runs under control or it'd be season over.
The thing is he's never played finals cricket before so it's all a bit new for him.
We'll have to nurse him through it all as I have a feeling the nerves might get to him, not everyone is able to cope with the higher intensity and I think we all know that he'll most likely fall into that category.
I'm just looking to gear up for my 7th Grand Final after finishing top of the ladder for the 7th time.
For Boncer this minor premiership is the closest he's ever got to a trophy.
The only problem we have, apart from a Boncer mental meltdown, is what pitch to prepare, you'd think batting tracks might be the way to go with our extra bowling power and the fact that finals games have the extra day in them.

Your batting wasn't in doubt but we couldn't afford to have too many non-posters. It's especially important the vets stay involved.
He may have scored a load of runs in the h/a season but he'll go to pieces in finals.

I'm ice cool under pressure as demonstrated with mu numerous dismissals in the 90's.
If it wasn't for me, Coughlan (and the rest of you passengers) would be sitting in the cold watching the finals from the stands, you self important prick.
