What was the reason for wearing the guernsey last week? The game against Richmond made sense given they were the Eagles first ever opponent in VFL/AFL competition (BONUS TRIVIA: Who was the first in a pre-season game? And who was that team coached by?).

I just can't any info on why it was worn against Adelaide (we've never played them in the yellow strip before).

Footscray Mick Malthouse is what you think?

This one is a bit of a head scratcher...

Yeah, McDonalds jumpers (literally yellow or red with the logo on it) were used a lot for primary school footy when I was a kid. Another school used to wear old woollen Eagles jumpers exactly like that, a few kids wore their own ones and a few definitely had that M on it.

So I've seen 2 supposed 2016 clash guernseys in the last 2 days, that are clearly from 2015. Both are team signed and have a certificate of authenticity, stating they are "authentic 2016 clash guernseys" both have the yellow outline around the number which was not used in 2016. So how can there be a COA when what it is stating is wrong?? Does it just prove that COAs are full of shit and worth nothing??

Yes, and that people that produce and sign the COAs don't have the attention to detail required and most likely don't give a shit.

Where did you see them and did you make it known to the seller/owner that they are most likely not the real deal?

One was gumtree, the other eBay. Both are genuine player issues, no questions there, just that they are 2015s not 16s. I didn't bring it up with the sellers as they probably wouldn't care about something so minor, just found it interesting that something can have a COA that is clearly wrong.

Although the club might argue it says 2016 guernsey cause it's signed by the 2016 team? I'm sure nobody else would care though.

Wouldn't surprise me given how the club used 30th Anniversary guernseys for their 2006 Premiership stuff.

For anyone out there chasing a 1987 burswood jumper, look out for fakes with maroon edged burswood logos (taken off staff uniforms) and green neck tags which didn't come out until the 1990s

...will admit I was looking at that one. Thought it was odd that the Burswood logo had maroon instead of black.

Thanks for the heads up. :)

I'll link it here because it's a definite fake. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/West-Coa...396122?hash=item3ad407fb9a:g:xXoAAOSw44BYQj-S

Proportionately the logo looks way out of whack too; not something a player would have worn. The sad thing is that someone's going to be spending upwards of $200 on something that ain't the Real McCoy, and perhaps even worse, when they sell it on at a later date they'll be propagating the myth as well.

Speaking of fake West Coast guernseys on eBay, this one is a fake, stay away. Apart from the fact this is a 'retail' cut with the stitched on size tag (player issue had it printed onto the guernsey fabric), look at the AFL logo and the little blue man compared to genuine. And the number font is wrong, the 7 should be straight. not curved and the 3 is off.

This went for $400.

Very sad.

No, it was not made by Puma. Even if they made a player issue in a retail cut, they wouldn't butcher the AFL logo and the blue man, and they wouldn't use a different number font.

Someone's made a very identical counterfeit, probably using detailed pics from my site to get it right.
