I said it about our 2018 team and its the same for theirs. In 18 we had Frost and Omac and they spoiled not marked which meant ball on the ground which means tackles and goals to the other side. They dont mark the ball in D50. You can stop so much pressure and start attacks just by marking it. Even in that game we had May and Smith plus Gawn floats back. Petty and Lever are great at it and Tommo was good pre knee

They have no one.
 
and Tim O'Brien ain't gonna be the answer to their intercept woes.

Except maybe when they play us.

Yeah when Clarry Vines or Trac win the ball they are trying to break a tackle to create an overlap, the dogs players arent even looking they are just trying to milk a free. I ****ing cant stand the way they play

Respect the Lions far more , at least they try and take it to is physically.

Except when they had Mathieson, Christensen, Berry and a couple others who threw the arm up like campaigners. Actually I barely respect any modern players. Pansies

Does Christensen even play anymore? I thought he's been retired for 2 years or something?

Their small defenders are good but up forward it is so barren. It is Naughton then a 3rd year Weightman who are the only natural goalkickers. They also play a style of footy that is very hard to do under pressure and when it falls apart their back 6 just isn't able to hold back the avalanche.
 
While I am cynical about how footy journos operate I don't think what Bevo did will do the Dogs any favours. Just invites more scrutiny and criticism, which is sorta their MO of late, backs against the wall, us against the world etc.

Although I suspect it'll blow over in a week or two if they get a win next weekend and he bites his tongue in the presser.

The media storm will blow over but Bevo wouldn't want to make his club too paranoid about the leaker. Reckon that could be a bigger distraction that bubbles under the surface over the year.

**** I hope it's one of the players, remember what he did to that one player who was talking to his brother.
 
Instead of a bizarre 3 minute rant he could have made it clear he wasn't happy with info leaking in 10 seconds and moved on, not even convinced it's worth that much energy. Seems quite rattled already.

Insinuating Morris has tried multiple times to damage and unsettle the dogs to hand us an advantage because he's a Melbourne fan is just comedy considering all he reported on both times was selection. To be fair I don't see 100-7 happening if we hadn't have known Ryan Gardner was dropped for the GF a day early...

I actually rate Bevo as a coach and think he's done a good job with the group he has, but this was just unhinged.
 
Almost a fork in the road moment here for the Dogs. Do they galvanise a bit and start playing for each other or are there genuine cracks on the inside? Dunno, but time will soon tell. Before Bevo gets some control of the situation he needs to control himself.

On another note, it's a fine line between dropping off in form and dropping off in pace. I mean Hunter for example, - never been express but has he lost a yard?
I suspect he won't be alone this year.

Dogs being a fast team is (now) a myth IMO and many of their staple players looked average in pace and work rate.

They are a team that plays in bursts with no discernable strategy, dont work together well enough as a team when the chips are down and rely too much on 4 or 5 players.

Still a good team and should make the 8 but won't come as easy as last year IMO.

The Talia brothers, that was a great story at the time, although I don't think anything was ever really confirmed there. You know, there might be something to Bevo wanting his team to be communist revolutionaries. Won't be long until he's got secret police spying on employees.
 
He doesn't seem very stable. The siege mentality works until it breaks. For a man who talks about history, he doesn't seem to recognise that.

Was some shocking body language on the field from Treloar at times.

Would be cool if he was leaking about his new club for some reason, I'd really enjoy that. Could be a Bucks plant? 4D chess from everyone involved, especially Goody
 
I don't think this will blow over by next week, journos usually back each other (when theyre not stealing each others stories) and they will pile on against Bevo.
If they have a run of losses, the pressure on Bevo will be enormous, every presser he does will be a spectacle for the media.
He has badly shot himself and his players in the foot, Bulldogs player stories will start to pop up more in the media too I bet.
