Losing the 2006 prelim after being ahead at half-time and trailing by 4 measly points in the dying minutes. Probably would have beaten Sydney in the grand final.

Many Crows supporters will tell you they felt physically sick that afternoon.
This is exactly what I was going to mention. If we're talking purely game-wise, this was an absolute low point for a Crows fan. Full credit to West Coast, they were hungrier and faster in that last quarter, but I felt like we had the premiership cup ripped out of our hands that afternoon. We had amazing form during the season, and then lost a plethora of best 22 players to strange injuries/illness. I don't have the exact info at hand, but I think it went something like
Out: Rucciuto (Parvo virus), Hentschel (double ACL), McLeod (can't remember?) and then we lost Biglands to an ACL in the prelim. If that's not a horrible run into a prelim, I don't know what is.

Whenever someone mentions 2006, even if unrelated to footy, I always think of that horrible day.

"We are the *cough* blues"...

New grandstand, innovative administration and we won the game. Pretty good day.

Round 21 2011 after hawthorn absolutely destroyed us I thought my club was folding at that stage

2007 grand final didn't expect a win but was excited to see my team in a grand final again 20min the excitement had gone

McCarthy passing away hit very hard

97 Prelim. Was at the game and halfway through the last quarter was discussing with my dad how we were going to get tickets for the following week.

Libbas goal gets called a point, Jarman decides to turn it on and then C Grant tries to pick ball up in goal square when he just needed to kick it off the ground.
A lot went wrong in that last quarter and it still hurts. Even after winning it last year.

Ditto.

Thanks for writing this. Saves me the time.

2011 prelim- late Luke Ball winner sees Collingwood with a late steal. if that didn't happen we would not have won the 3peat though
2012- Tom Hawkins after the siren, thank god we got revenge in the prelim the following year

Couple of games from 2006. Prelim final was heart breaking.

Then there was my first game in Melbourne when we got beaten by a dismal richmond in the basketball crap game. Never been to a worse game of football in my life

2011, Port vs. Collingwood at AAMI Stadium, 138 point loss on a freezing cold Saturday night in the pouring rain, Chad Cornes' "final" game, this was the first game I'd attended since 2007 (I lived in the UK and Germany between 2008-2010), I can remember going to the bar at half time and not going back to our seats afterwards, and Collingwood supporters chatting to us after the game about what the **** was going on at Port, they were sympathetic, but that was pretty much rock bottom.

Rtound 21 96 Roys last game in Melbourne.

Still remember 1 fan burning his jumping saying "this is what the AFL have done to us"
Was there with my Richmond-supporting father.

The most wretchedly sad game I've been to or seen, without a doubt.

1993 at the Western Oval. Had a fair bit to drink watching the dogs trying to control Wayne Carey, but he was too good. Went for a leak at 3/4 time with the dogs just about shot. There was about 200 people in the queue so I made a poor decision to relieve myself outside the toilet. Someone took offence and I told them to p*** off. It was not a good decision as I got pushed and when I fell over my pants ended up around my ankles and it took me about 10 minutes to get up, due to my intoxication.

Neen a few. For rhe Giants although it was tough early there was always the potential for success, it was just a matter of belief.
In previous lives
The 1976 SANFL GF was there to watch as a 16yo Bays supporter. Newly independent and with a mate who had a car and licence decided to go. After all of the effort in getting tkts travelling etc it never really occurred to me we would lose. I learnt a lesson that day, a very painful one.
The Hawks line in the sand game. Was an interstate member at that time and sad to see a great club lose it's way that badly. It probably was the darkness hour before dawn though, and might have been the wake up call needed.

That's odd. The 1976 SANFL grand final I watched involved Sturt and Port Adelaide. No wonder a Bays supporter hated it.

We would've won that if the umpires knew the rules and didnt cheat at end (sharrod wellingham and not returning the ball properly/running over the mark) and if Rooeys shot from 50 bounced forward and not up so that the worst captain of afl history could touch it on the line -would've put us 12 points up with 2 minutes left.

Worst for me was the replay, actually went and probably the only time I'll be able to go seeing as I live in SA
You got flogged replay

I post from memory and dont gòogle unless I have to. I did and you're right it was 77. I recalled I was 16 and I guess that gave me two and I got the wrong one.. Happy now?

Not really. I hated the 76 GF too!

Enjoyed 77 much more.

Hearing through the radio that Jim was ill, then waking up to the news that he was gone a few years later. Been plenty of on-field rubbish, but nothing compares to that morning.

2009 Grand Final. Was lucky enough to get tickets along with my mum and sister. Drove home with all three of us in absolute silence. When I got home I was sitting there in my lounge room just numb. Then for some stupid reason I decided to turn on the TV just as this was on....

Needless to say I absolutely lost it
