circumstance, age, myriad reasons intertwined.

the world knew he could play, and has nba height for a guard. however, his defensive attributes were poor - common trait in the A. his feats at seton hall are folklore.

in his prime, he was happy to the nbl i guess. and olympics were his pinnacle. the nbA wasnt too much of a goal, coinciding with the fact that the nba was still an insular league, with a splash of euros penetrating the lanes sporadically. not as global as it is now.
