You have to admit.

There was no way they were going to win it today, but I tell you what they almost did.

I know the rain equalised it but they were a good team today. The worst side presented under sheedys reign and they came 3 points from knocking off one of this seasons better teams.

Pretty gutted, but bloody proud. Its pretty annoying that they didnt win, because a loss is a loss whichever way you dice it.

You sound like a St Kilda supporter

Difference is weve 16 flags, theyve one.... and I go to games even when were losing, they dont.

Difference is St.Kilda are gathering momentum nicely at the moment and the good teams find a way to wineven when they are challenged and not playing well.

Saints will be a HUGE show in September..... Nowhere near the crows class though.

You go and ruin a good thread by saying that.
Your boys tried their guts out today, of that you should be proud. I've been on the opposite side of the coin so many times I can't count.

Gee Essendon did well, the Saints forward potency got them over the line......not too often this team has to play in the wet but they won....

Good signs for Essendon

Yeah, pretty poor. Youre right.

Prolly just a tad emotional some ;) just got back from the game. Cheers.

Not true, your crowds have been way down this year. This game would have attracted much more than 33000 when Bombers were up. Remember there were quite a few Saints supporters there today.

How can you feel "bloody proud"???

Essendon were in front, then they blew it.

Exactly, i'd be ashamed and embarrased. Although i have felt that way enough about the power this season, last week springs to mind.

Its cool, prob picking the wrong target with us though. We've been down for about 90 years, clearly we have supporters that go when we are down. You guys had a proper crack, probably deserved to win. I feel for ya...

Not too much, but a little.

Have you seen the team they fielded? They should never have been in front really.

But they were in front, but couldn't stay there. A team with real heart would have found a way to win.

Good stuff from the Bombers today.

Gave it their all and could have won the game. Tanking not on today's agenda.

they've definitely got heart but is this current Essendon team the worst ever in the history of the club?

And brains too, they played the conditions very well. Awful game for saints fans to watch, they tried but were really out muscled and out played for most of the first half in particular. Awful signs for us - other than we snatched a win under difficult circumstances from a very competitive opponent.

yup ..I reckon Sheeds was worried there for a while ...but i bet he breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the final siren ;)
If you believe that you know little about football (which we already knew but thanks for the confirmation).

Essendon were fantastic today and Sheed's would have been bitterly disappointed for his players. They deserved to win but looked like a team that had forgotten how to. Their work rate was fantastic the entire game and quite frankly I thought they were one of the better teams we've played recently.

Bad luck Bombers - you deserved a win. :thumbsu:

I agree.
There's nothing to be proud about losing. I don't want other supporters feeling sorry for us.

Stuff that.

We should have won today. Its as simple as that. Sheedy had every right to get stuck into them after the match.
