We have had a bad year and was wodering since we let go of Andy Kellaway and D.Gasper, it seemed like a bad decision. Since we needed them to help with McGuane and Thursfield.

Polak has proven to be a good pick up, but after playing a against Collingwood he seemed more suited for the forward line, in my opinion.

Ray Hall has gone missing and Pat Bowden has had injuries.

I think Going after Melbournes Brad Miller would be a good Full-Back fit for our team since it would free up Joel bowden to run up like he has in previous seasons.

If not B.Miller who should we go after at the end of this season?

Would u agree since McGuane and Thursfield arent fully ready yet.

What would we be willing to give up for him or anyone?

Have to say well done to Nathan Foley for standing up and taking charge and Jake king hasnt done too bad either.

No thank you. If he can't get a game for the dees, i don't see how he's going to be any good for us.

:)While I agree with your statement .................. and I am not saying it is you who is at fault here Ah ................ but we have 50 posters a day talking up the trade prospects of the likes of Danny Meyer, Kelvin Moore, Brent Hartigan, Ray Hall, Jay Schulz and none of those can get a game for a team that sits one spot below the Demons!
Flawed logic!
How is a player who can't get a game at Tigerland - ranked 16th in the AFL -going to help any other club? Yet we seem to think Meyer and Schulz have outstanding trade value:confused::confused::confused:!

i think miller could only ever be a CHF - and he would be as lost at full back than schulz was.

lets face it - considering where melbourne are at, its a poor sign that ben holland is getting a starting spot ahead of him.

if he came for next to peanuts - he would be a good depth player - but i can't see him being a better option in our forward line than reiwoldt, schulz, hughes or Polak

Career best form Ben Holland the last three weeks.........though doubt itb will be enough to save him.

Interesting dilemma!

maybe if we got him really cheap. he looked good awhile ago, and you never know what a change of clubs might do for him - players do not lose ability they just lose confidence.

point is - he should have been in the same boat as Kingsley (i.e dead man walking) - and a month and a half back, a kid take his position. Shows that Melbourne must really not be happy with Miller to let a old, average player play over a first round pick kid.

A new coach might see it differently!

agree - get him in and tell him he is last in line at the moment behind schulz, hughes, reiwoldt and Polak - but that all could change with a good pre-season.

it would deifintely be a great motivator to have him and schulz competiting with each other through the pre-season - both would be fighting for survival.:thumbsu:

would have to be a really good deal though - like a late draft pick swap - or for krakour or moore or something

I understand what you're saying, in that how can we talk up our own when they can't get a game either. And that's definately true. First of all, I think most people on this board would understand that only Schulz and Meyer have potentially any trade value. Hartigan, Moore, Hall have none. Zero. Nuffing.
However the one up side that Schulz and Meyer have are that they are both a few years younger than Miller. Miller is 24 i think? An age where he should be really tearing it up, and he isn't.
Also, I think with our history, some clubs would look at Schulz and Meyer and think they could get something out of them that we couldn't.
Players like Schulz and Meyer may perform better in better performing teams - Rodan is a good example.

While not shooting down the Brad Miller question, I don't think we need to worry about Thursfield and McGuane. Watching them progress this year has been great and they're improving every week - both exceptional against the Pies. With another preseason behind them and Polak as third tall defender when required, I think they'll cope just fine.

But then, watching Polak this year compared to his time at Freo suggests that it wouldn't hurt to have Miller, a similar story, on the list. Neitz is almost gone - maybe we can do a straight swap for Schulz.

Maybe he's not happy there so that's why his performances are not up to scratch similiar to polak, have a look at him now he's playing his best ever football for us.A change of enviroment is maybe what miller needs,he was a regular senior player a few years back.
