This one doesn't shock me. He was fast but had no decelerator. He just lacked that agility to change direction quickly, and playing key forward is a game where you need to turn around.
For mine he just lacked being a bloody good mark which is kinda critical for a key forward , he would regularly spill uncontested marks too

Baffling decision in the first place. Trying address key forward depth in the supplementary draft was dumb.

If it was out of Bradtke, Teal, and Narkle, which it was, the club took the right punt. It just so happens none of the SSP guys we had train with us this year were up to making the list.

Yep yet GC put on a key forward from franga that kicked 51g at vfl ,,, not sure how hard we look at anyone over 5”8

Not really. It's exactly what the rookie list is for. Players with potential that need developing. Nick Larkey was taken at pick 70 something by North. These days that would have been undrafted and a potential SSP selection. Guys like Taberner, Rowan Marshall, Amartey, Mihocek were all rookie picks.

Norf nailed the shit out of that pick

How many majors is Bradtke kicking in that Suns VFL team?

You could probably try loads of these guys before finding one who can actually cut it at AFL level. I like the punt we took. Bradtke has size and speed to set him apart from other prospects from outside the system. Sadly his weaknesses did not allow him to perform better than others.

Yeah exactly some people were riding on him to be our next key forward a country footballer club should have prepared and drafted years ago developing forwards.

Satisfied the club has made the right call. Goes to show how cutthroat it is to make it onto a list and keep your spot. Interesting how Young was another rookie from last year who got his chance and took it. These guys are a bit of a free hit to see if they have the right attributes and if they aren't dominating in the VFL and we aren't looking at them as a longer term prospect, best to make the decision early. Be keen to see if Biggie is kept for depth, somewhat doubtful, unless the fact that he has been in our system a few years saves him and the club doesn't think there is much else out there that would be better.

He could still be re-rookied for next season i guessing.

Surely we have a KPF in the pipeline for the off season if Bradke is getting the flick as now we have even less forward line depth than the bare cupboard we did before. Hindsight hero here but Sparkle Narkle would have been a better choice. At least he made the port AFL squad a few times this year.

He played a few senior games as well and played really good in one of them too.
