Some really great posts here. I have no problem with the way MM stuck up for the team. Let’s not forget fellow pie supporters we all on the same team side by side and willing our team each week. Despite the fact we have difference of opinions on personnel. We all know what result we want at the end of the game.

Personally I think MM should front up as I am sure he will to the press conference as normal. Why give some of the media haters more ammo? And ditto foe media bans. There is nothing to be gained from such bans.

I would hope that after the game on Saturday he even apologizes for not telling the truth and emphasize how he stuck up for the players and staff and then refuse to take any questions on the matter. Wouldn’t they just hate that?

Does anyone get the feeling that it could be a blessing in disguise? Going by the photos and every other image of Mick, it kind of makes me think that he already is more determined than ever to shut everyone up (and probably even Pert and Eddie to a certain extent). I think you will see better performances from him as a coach and he will make our playing group will sharpen up a little more.

Just got this feeling he has got a bit more of an edge.

PS... haven't read the whole thread, but if any Collingwood supporter says to sack Malthouse now- IMO it's the worst thing we can do. He'll go straight to carlton and if he wins a flag with them before we do, we will cop shit for life from every scum bag who likes Navy Blue.

Winning a flag is about circumstance and luck as much as planning. I hear so many people bleating about the list but few ever acknowledge the draft is a lottery. Sometimes you get a dud with a first rounder sometimes you unearth a superstar in the last round.

For that matter getting a better coach is too. For all the Collingwood supporters who complain about Malthouse whenever opposition supporters talk about who they would want as a coach I see Malthouses name come up fairly often.

theres one thing you can guarantee for the next 2 seasons:

after every loss, every poor performance, every off field issue, every photo of mick or bucks that is taken when they're not wearing a million dollar grin, or any camera angle that shows one of them grimacing, there will be a statement made about how the arrangement isnt working, how the pressure is mounting on mick, how he is feeling the pressure, how bucks doesnt like working under mick, how eddie is ready to stab mick, how bucks is trying to push out mick, how mick is trying to show whos boss, how its all gonna fall apart..


buckley, mick and eddie are all adults. they have entered into an agreement. mick knows his place for the next 5 years. bucks knows his place for the next 5 years. eddie knows the places of bucks and mick for the next 5 years. FFS get over it.

and i am of the opinion that the players would have loved seeing their coach get into the thick of things. they would hate the tip rat as much as we do - and im sure they all share their coaches opinion (as we do). the only bad thing to come out of friday was dismal goal kicking and a disappointing last quarter effort.

you deserve a big star,
our list has been ordainary since he took the helm , this year is the best list he has had.
in 12 years twice runners up twice prelim with the cattle he had I thought he has done well.
atleast we didnt turn into a carlton, richmond or melbourne, shouldve we well maybe we should but i prefer watching a competive side.
remember the boston red sox didnt win one for 70 years
but now and next year is when we have to strike

I've only just read the article that Caro wrote... If she is not the biggest sensationalist, trash talking, viral mole in the business I don't know who is (not even Patrick Smith is as bad as her - i think he is just ******ed).

Milne gets everything he deserves, minus some, and the fact he went and had a whinge after the game speaks volumes about him as a person and the club he plays for.

Out of everything that has gone on, this is the only "factor" that should concern Collingwood right now, focus on Hawthorn, forget last week ever happened (apart from the bad kicking) and move on.

This game is so crucial for our season it's hard to put words to it, and if the whole Milne/MM thing gets in the way and we lose, I'm afraid the shit really will hit the fan both at Collingwood and the media.

What Horseface Caro, Fat Patty, Dopey Sheahen and all the other media bashers don't get is MM never lied to the club, the AFL or us (supporters), which basically means he lied to a stupid media pack that is irrelevant in general terms.

I just hope we are focused, and it is because of that I support this thread and Mick Malthouse 100%.

Rape is such a problem in society that so many cases go unheard, and so many that do never get the justice they seek because of a "lack of evidence". Your coach cost your club a grand final last year with his pig-headiness, he has also lied about calling Stephen Milne a good human.
As for Maxwell and Eddie defending Mick, I think its great leadership. As a club they do not care what anyone outside the club thinks about them. They play & work for each other and if St. Kilda had done even 1% of that they might have more than 1 flag sitting in storage at Linton st.

Collingwood do not look foolish from where I sit, hey look as strong as they've ever been on the inside.

Just like to add my support for MM.
I think he's a credit to the footy world,whereas Milne,we all know he is guilty of something not so nice,and gets off scot free.
People in the media are trying to crucify the bloke for being a liar,who gives a shit,they lie every minute to us and never once apologize.
MM is as tough as old boots and am sure he's already moved on.
BTW can we have him when Bucks takes over?.
Our coach does'nt want our boys kicking for goals or being physical at training because the conditioning guys believe they might pull up sore....cant see MM being dictated to by the physio's.
