As discussed previously somewhere, don't understand that Anderson for Grigg thing. As an interchange role (utility) surely Grigg > Anderson. If Anderson is picked for a reason, why isn't he in the 18.

I'm somewhat surprised that Grigg didn't make it into the 22 and Anderson did, but good luck to Joey all the same.

The MC has obviously been impressed by Joey over the preseason and he deserves to show what he has to offer on the big stage. Must be there as an option to cover one of the smaller Richmond forwards or to tag someone through the middle.

I don't mind giving him a go early in the season. As we saw last year with the new guys, those really fighting for a spot tend to come out firing and eager to impress and consolidate their spot in the club's best 22. I think Anderson is there for Army at the moment, so hopefully Joey can really perform and put a bit of pressure on Army to fight his way back into the team - can only create a competitive squad and a real feeling of depth at the club.

A little worried about Grigg at the moment, but we'll have to wait and see how he responds to being left out. He's fighing for a midfield spot so hopefully he can perform for the Bullants and really put the pressure on the likes of Houlihan to perform in the seniors.

Congratulations to Warnock, Henderson and McLean on your first game in the Navy Blue - make sure to do us proud. Also congratulations to Thornton and Carrazzo on their respective milestones, and again to Carrots for being named captain for the game.

Let's go Blues - hit them hard and hit them early. They won't be as easy as last season but if we stick to the game plan and really try to cut down on the turnovers, we should come away with a reasonably comfortable victory.

Dont like Anderson in, not a big fan. Looking at the preseason, he will probably get a shutdown role and can play back pocket.

Grigg has been out of favour this pre-season so no surprise he is an emergency only. Still think he is one of our better in and under players with great handballs.

The real concern would be Hampson 4th in line as ruckmen with Jacobs named emergency. Was hoping for better things from him this year.

Love the excitment of our bench of Yarran, Walker and Robbo, bit of energy and x-factor there.

Anderson showed really good form over the pre season.
He has a heap of courage and backs himself.
I have no issue with him in the side for Grigg.
and what does his physio say?

Neither Anderson or Grigg are in our best 22 so with Judd back soon and Armfield, Lucas etc....they wont play many games this season. Bullants players at best ! Happy for them to prove me wrong but i doubt it.

I would have Grigg in before Anderson as well but that is just my opinion. I am really looking forward to seeing how Yarran goes as i think he will improve greatly this year and show the silky skills he has on a weekly basis. Also look out for Mitch and he killed the Tigers in this game last year!

Lets go Blue boys. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I would've thought that Hadley is more stiff on missing a spot than Grigg, but they both play a pretty similar role to Mclean so very understandable.

He was actually really bad against Adelaide.

Really, really bad

Agree and Grigg has shown better form in the Pre Season this year. IMO

he had a shocker against adelaide. poor disposal, even worse decision making

i reckon hadley is stiff to miss out. Armfield is underdone so makes sense to give him a bit more time.

add judd and armfield and we are at full strength.

Hampson seems to be out of favour with the club/MC. Seems to be 4th in line for ruck duties.
