I think it's fine while the 6th placed team hosts it. Seems obvious however that when 6th vs 7th is VIC vs VIC with a bandwagon MCG crowd that somebody else will be forced to play it.

No. It was always 2 v 3 Friday night and 1 v 4 Saturday, so that 1 can host the Friday prelim. The maggot Rucci over here from the Advertiser has just said "The crows could host a Thurs night Qualifying final"
For years the team that finishes top has hosted a Q final on a Friday night and the side that finishes 2nd hosts the sat arvo Q final.
We would only allow it if we were allowed to play it at Cat Park, I'd prefer Sat 2.10, but Thursday night would be allright. If they let Geelong host GWS, reckon that might be the Thursday game. Minimal travelling fans, allows 1 v 4 Friday night, eliminations to follow.
Sat arvo will be 3.20pm.We would only allow it if we were allowed to play it at Cat Park, I'd prefer Sat 2.10, but Thursday night would be allright.
One can hopeSat arvo will be 3.20pm.
correct.No. It was always 2 v 3 Friday night and 1 v 4 Saturday, so that 1 can host the Friday prelim.
If Cats beat GWS in Rnd 23 at the Cattery, they could be back there for week 1 of the finals.
Why?AFL need to make it clear right now... if Geelong ever hosts a non Vic side in Week 1, the final is always played at Kardinia Park
It will probably happen, 2013 set the precedent, but the AFL haven't come out and said it officially yet.
I will spew if the crows finish top 2 and have to host a thurs final.
Hate it, completely overrated timeslot. How is less games on a weekend a good thing?
