If he gets an offer from someone else that he wants to go to, dogs could match and a trade could go down

And the dogs supporter is making an assumption they finish high this year whilst unlikely there’s a chance they somehow finish bottom 6 which would be close to value and accepting

He either stays at dogs or comes home to WA to west coast .
Doubt freo would trade for him after spending up big on 2 rucks .

I wouldn’t rule out a move to other vic clubs if the price is right and dogs don’t get close to it

The Eagles are not in a position to use up a valuable portion of their SC for a ruckman, esp as Bailey Williams seems to be doing pretty well as their number 1 so far.

Makes more sense to me that teams chasing a quality top tier ruck like Geelong, Hawthorn, North Melbourne or St Kilda try make a play for English.

English will most likely be past his peak/best by the time West Coast enter their next flag window, so there is no point in them recruiting him imho

Lobb is a ruck/forward, before him the only ruck assistance we could really play alongside Tim was Josh Bruce, Tim O'Brien or Josh Schache. Either we picked up another ruck and moved Tim which wouldn't have made a lot of sense, or we picked another ruck/forward, which we did.

Maybe. But I think we were able to see that, unless you have a Max Gawn, is it really worth spending so much money on retaining a very good ruckman? Particularly when he currently has alot of trade currency in the open market? It seems ruckman jiust need to be competitive and competent rather than stars. You can find these guys in the state leagues or at other clubs sitting behind the number 1 ruckman. Key position players are obviously in demand, the the Dogs have them. They'll be using up alot of cap space just to keep them and they are probably more important.

Anyway, it seems the Doggies have alot of big guys and picked up another in father-son in Croft. Is the balance right for a list?

I don't know the answer. Just an observation. A bit of envy. I'd love for the Pies to approach Busslinger.

Always liked WC since the Swans rivalry of 2005-06
Agree, grab English and front load his contract.. and then hit the draft. The Swans went to the draft for 4ish years and played those kids. As a fan, it was great to watch the rebuild of the list and game plan that suited that list despite finishing bottom 4 in 2019 & 20. That time of drafting and playing (developing) those kids has set the Swans up very well for the next 5 years.

ps.. liked how WC kept the coach - the injuries weren't his fault
pps.. Logan is shaping up to be a very very good tall forward, and for another 8-10 years. Still reckon you should concentrate on the draft and free agents.

Geelong wont offer that for english we dont value rucks like that. But some other vic club might.
