As I've said before, Gary Lyon doesn't give a flying fig about the MFC. Sure he has a bond with some ex team mates, but fundamentally, the has no burning passion for the club. His manufactured persona of Melbourne's favourite son is something he practices well as it it gives his media career gravitas.

Then what does that say about the culture of Melbourne, if not even Gary Lyon can show any passion?

As a neutral observer, I'd want all MCC members (that follow Melbourne and go to Melbourne games) to be forced to take out Melbourne club membership.
