These two cannot exist in the same line-up. They have to make a tough call.

Based on what evidence?

Warne the best bowler in the world, White working on his batting- maybe warnie will actually teach him something on bowling- you never know....

So whites a batsman now... convenient that hes an all-rounder when Australia was on the search for one...

Though he doesnt bowl much lately, which is prob a good thing for the team he is playing for...

He's been working on his batting since the 04/05 season, from there he really hasn't focused too much on his bowling (don't let that last ditch effort last summer to "rejig his action" with Jenner fool you).

Even despite his recent performances in county cricket with the bat, people are a little slow to wake up to the fact that he's been predominantly a batsman for the past 2 seasons...his lack of bowling will back that up, but his inconsistency with the bat is starting to be eradicated. That's not to say he couldn't become a handy part-timer, but thankfully he's realised what Hookes once said: "his best chance of Test selection is at number 6".

The only people who rate White's bowling are the sports writers at the Herald-Sun and maybe some editorial staff.
He did have a decent patch two seasons ago with the ball, actually found out where a good length for a spinner was. But he's no "next Warne" like the Hun used to claim a few years back or potential Test spinner as they seem to claim.

What a stupid thread. So the Greatest spinner of all time and a batsmen and part time spinner (not to mention also the captain) can't exist in the same team? Why the hell not??

All rounders dont have to be decent bowlers, Australia have proved that in recent years with their wannabe all rounders, Harvs was the only one of the lot who could bowl

Because the 'batsman' averages 36. And a shade under 40 with the ball.

He's a fielder.

So what? Thats over his whole career, he had a great summer in England and has continued his good form with 2 solid innings in the first Pura cup game, its pointless bringing up someone career average when they are so young.

That's right , let's not let statistics get into any argument about Cameron "The Great" White , its not about his batting , its not about his bowling , its not about his captaincy , its about the "vibe" he creates when he's on the field.

South Australians never let us bring statistics into arguments about Cullen, lets keep it fair
