When has an AFL footballer proven you wrong?

Mine would be Luke Hodge, before the Hawks-Cats Rd. 17 clash I started a thread in Bay 13 titled 'Is Luke Hodge Scared of Geelong'. After the match i was feeling pretty high and mighty as he had a shocker but he has obviously proven me wrong by playing one of his best matches in his most important match

Onya Hodgey, happy to be proven wrong by such a class player

whats yours?

At the end of last year I told my mate who is a Richmond supporter that Richo was a washed up sook who should pull the pin and let the club move on..

Needless to say, Richo has now spread egg from one side of my face to the other, leaving me without a shred of credibility with this mate..

Who coincidentally was telling me half way through the year that Matty Lloyd couldn't jump over a jam tin anymore and was past kicking more that 4..

Michael Osborne has been an inconsequential player when he started out, being responsible for many a clanger and turnover... an absolute waste of space, until he proved very quickly to becoming a major cog in the forward lineup. Onya Ozzy :thumbsu:

Jade Rawlings when he came to the Dogs.
Milney, I thought he was soft until he played with the face of the elephant man in Perth.
Stephen Tiller, I thought wasn't up to it for us but was definitely in our best in the finals against the Swans and Cats.
Rhyce Shaw, I thought he was tough until J Brown ran at him in the GF and he has been a squib ever since!

Steve Johnson.

Used to think he was a player that used to be fancy and always tried the impossible things and thought he was only a hinderance to Geelong's future. Then once the drunken incidents happened I thought he was gonna go. Then after Round 6, 2007 he was back and has never looked back. Premiership and Norm Smith and All-Australian. Glad he proven me wrong, cos one of my fav players to watch now.

Darren Glass used to make Clive Waterhouse look like the personification of poise and grace. I told my mate that the Eagles will never win a premiership with him in the team. Needless to say the Eagles won a premiership and proceeded to appoint Glass captain. Since then, I never slag off a young player.

We all make our mistakes. Believe it or not I said Lance Franklin would never be a superstar player. Probably just a good player at best. I wasn't too keen on Roughead when he came to Hawthorn either.

I remember going absolutely troppo when Roughead had his first run in the forward 50. Actually yelled at Roughead, then complained to all that would listen "AC must be a D-head for moving our full back to full forward".

Truly there was a D-head that day, but it was not AC. (It was Warren Treadrea).

Will Minson has started to prove me wrong. He did some things this year that made me think he could be OK. I've also said forever that Reiwoldt couldn't kick at goal, and he couldn't, but now I think maybe he can.

I also once bet a mate 81 dollars that Lleyton Hewitt would never win a Grand Slam. He did it that year.

I saw that Leon Davis was mentioned by a reporter in the tiser about coming to Port Adelaide. I called him a hack, the next week he killed us, the following week, got one of the goals of the year.....I know when to shutup.

The guy is a gun.

I must admit that I was one of many people who used to think Richmond were crazy for holding on to Richo and they should have traded him years ago when they had the chance...I also think Terry Wallace deserves 10 points for moving Richo to the wing and triggering his amazing revival...sadly he's going to be sacked next year if Richmond don't make the 8

I also used to think Wayne Carey was loyal to our club....whoops

Stewie Dew who I thought had been tailing off this year and was going to struggle in the big one.

Earlier this year i thought Col Garland had a one-way ticket to delisted city, but he has since become an integral part of our backline and looks a great prospect for the future. Earned himself a rising star nom aswel.

Have never been more happy to be proven wrong about a player
