There is no denying Trigg's involvement ... but feel free to stick your head in the sand.
Involvement in what? the things that have been alleged by journalists? A charge has been laid, i dont see the harm in waiting to see if its upheld before passing judgement. Ever been accused of something you didnt do? I sure have.

Lets say you get you wish, you wake up in the morning to find Trigg has been sacked by the AFL. Then a week later you hear the charges havent been upheld. did that have much of an impact on your life? cos it sure would on his. I dont get why its so important to pass judgement on the guy before we know if we're even being punished over any of this. Its the offseason, whats sacking him now going to achieve that cant wait to find out what his actual level of culpability is?

This is what concerns me. The Crows have hired a gun lawyer to defend them, the AFL has hired a gun lawyer to act as "prosecutor", and yet the final call will be made by the AFL commission which is more or less Demetriou and Anderson. Whatever happens, whether the result is good or bad for the Crows, the adjudicating body will not be impartial or independent of the AFL.

I think there is no denying that he has been charged with something that he did do or at least was involved in.
The question now is was it illegal and if yes how bad?

in reality, the saddest part about this, weather we are innocent or guilty the AFL will need to ping us for something given they got in the way of the trade and have created a rather large shit storm (well the 2 parties created it but the AFL and magnified it's impact - not that I'm suggesting they had any other option)

The AFL, to save face will find us guilty of something, its going to depend how bid Vlad and AA want to pump their chest as to what the penalty will be and what particular thing we are found guilty for.
Don't buy that, we got in the way of the trade by giving the afl one week and asking them to go through our books

Im not claiming he is innocent because i dont and cant know that any more than i cant know hes guilty. I think claiming he should be sacked without knowing the facts is irresponsible.

Do you understand the responsibilities of a CEO - he isn't the boot studder!

Trigg authorised & covered up an illegal contract. His name is all over this. The illegal contract was on AFC letter head. How is this not involvement in an illegal activity, which would normally be a sackable offence??? These actions will have consequences for AFC & have damaged the image of the club, as well probably harming our medium term future. I can only assume you are close to Trigg or blindly closing your eyes to what has eventuated.

I have no issue waiting for making a decision on his position to after the hearing (though many others want him stood down), but he is a dead man walking.

yes true, but my point still stands

we will be penalised for something, anything, so that the AFL doesn't have to sort out what to do next.
Don't agree, if they find nothing then Kurt gets to go int the PSD and the risk of court action diminishes. Also we have copped a whack by losing Tippett for nothing.

Today's article if true is the bad one. People like Trigg are there to know the rules and the buck has to stop somewhere.

Tippett featured in the ads, dubbed "Tippett's Tips", as part of a deal with the iconic SA bakery that was allegedly arranged by the Crows outside the salary cap.
Third-party deals are common in the AFL - Chris Judd's arrangement with Visy is the best known - but it is against AFL rules for clubs to be involved in the deals.

I assume we are the pretense that the AFC will cop it in due course.

If everyone is found not guilty then the AFL have a fine mess on their hands, in reality, they should have allowed the trade and sorted out a punishment had the charges been proven.

now they have penalised the club, I would hope, but I doubt we have the balls, that the AFC would seek compensation from the AFL given it was their directive that the trade not be taken.

Anderson isn't on the commission.
The article below details the present commissioners;

Demetriou may have significant influence, but I really would imagine that people like the boss of Wesfarmers, the former CFO of BHP and a Family Court judge would be capable of being able to reach a fair and impartial judgement.

Trigg is ALLEGED TO HAVE been part of it.

I guess we'll find out next week

Hmmm interesting - I like the fact that a Family Court judge is involved. Let's just hope those other guys and gals, despite their intelligence, don't get sucked in my this pathetic media circus!

I'm one to give people the benefit of the doubt - but in case there is NO DOUBT that TRIGG WAS ACTIVELY INVOLVED in this Tippett deal - including covering it up & lyng to the board, media & supporters. As CEO he IS ACCOUNTABLE & his POSITION IS UNTENABLE.

Yes, we will find out next week & hopefully put an end to this saga.

Sorry to intrude guys. Not sure if it's been posted but Emma Quayle's just written another article. Apparently the AFL's now investigating payments made to Nathan Van Berlo.

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/adelaide-salary-probe-widens-20121115-29euo.html

A SECOND Adelaide player has become embroiled in the club's salary cap scandal, with the Crows under investigation for third-party payments made to captain Nathan van Berlo outside the salary cap.
Already facing major sanctions over third-party arrangements made for Kurt Tippett, Adelaide may now face further penalties over a deal set up for van Berlo that may breach the AFL's total player payment rules.

Whilst JR probably instigated this (after being forced into a corner by Tippett senior)

Firstly, yes I am a Port supporter and only am interested observer so tell me to GF'd but the above is total BS. No one backed anyone into a corner. If Tippetts manager started demanding that dodgy additions be made to the contract trigg and reid should have looked down to check they had a pair and then told them to piss off and traded the pr1ck. Simple. All you supporters would have kicked up a stink at the time but would have soon be forgotten when you realised he wasn't a superstar but a money hungry mike hunt with daddy issues.
