The AFL have stated previously that the Judd deal wouldn't be allowed now. But it was for x years so they had to ride it out

Yes but there is apparently still one year left on this deal which makes the timing of this all the more scary for the crows outcome.

I agree with other posts that something stinks with this coming out right before the Crows go before the commission.

that's not correct, the investigation is over. but anyway, we'll find out soon enough the final details

Note the Ragtiser states this morning that the AFC will be calling up to 11 witnesses and that cross examination is expected to be intense. There are a number of conflicting facts.

Regardless of how the AFL want to word it this does indicate there have not been final findings of guilt and this will be taking on the guise of a trial.

Good to see other third party deals, for other clubs, coming under consideration. There is little doubt most clubs are doing something in this regard.

On another postiive note, told the missus this morning that Judd's visy deal was looking like being put under Carlton's salary cap. I heard her talking to miss 5 about 'what did daddy say?' etc. The wife calls out a few minutes later, "All Brianna wants to know is if Tex is staying??"

I took great joy in informing here that indeed he was.

Priorities - important to comprehend early in life.

A trial would take many weeks, this will be measured in hours

Only the chinese would call that a trial

Crows fans, all we can say at the moment is don't jump to conclusions

The club is confident it will get a good result. Something is going on here. I'm adamant the EQ/Caro's sources are from the Tippett camp. Everything so far is burying us in a deeper hole, and nothing about Muppet.

I look forward to Monday.

I tend to agree with you.

whilst clearly there has been something go wrong at AFC world, I don't think it is anywhere near as bad as being made out by certain Female journos based in Melbourne with the intials EQ and CW, who both appear to be getting their information direct from the Tippets.

It is a shame that there is no recourse to dodgy journalism.

The media are doing what they always do and simply seeking out attention..

I for one am sticking this out and remain positive it wont be nearly as bad as is being made out by the attention seekers media ...

LOL....thats not a bad justice system to compare the AFL with.:thumbsu:

Of course if this was a normal civil dispute it would take years and the trial months. However the fact witnesses are bing permitted with xxe is a fair indication the facts have not been finalised. There is still plenty to play out in this regardless of the trial by media that is currently being orchestrated.

In any event ...its going to be a very intense and interesting coule of days, particulary when Edwardson applies his standard scorched earth policy.

******* hate auditers! Black White and that's it. Operational understanding is irrelivent as are goals, outcomes and everything else. They'd rather you give poor advice in the correct manner, than good advice in a manner that isn't 100% consistent with the rules and procedures.

Once had an auditor tell me "just pick something else that's alright" - when a sample had a fail in it. Smh.

I thought the opposite. That they are cracking down on the Visy deal so that they don't look like hypocrites when they throw the book at us.

how would they look like hypocrites? carlton disclosed the deal and got approval from the afl. you guys went ahead and did it without the knowledge or approval of the afl

Kurt was a 'young kid' at 22.
Gillard was young and naive at 32.

Is bullshit.

If you are old enough to start signing $700k pa a year contracts you are old enough to take responsibility for it. In the eyes of the law he is well and truly an adult and responsible for his actions. We are not talking about a 16 year old kid here. He is a full grown man. It may be a harsh lesson, but its a lesson he will learn from quickly.

Whats the Gillard stuff you are talking about?

Kirt Tippetts 5 favourite movies....
1. Million Dollar Baby
2. Slumdog Millionaire
3. For A Few Dollars More
4. One For The Money
5. A Fist Full Of Dollars
Kirt Tippetts most disliked movie........The Crow

honestly, taking anything from a caro article is like accepting a 3 year olds explanation of how to make a cake.

maybe wait till Monday/tuesday before you start throwing names around

And yet it turned out that she was on the money regarding the 'gentleman's agreement' (despite numerous denials by Trigg). So she obviously has some intel on the situation.

I'm not much of a fan of Caro (mainly from watching her on Footy Classified), but she has been on the money with this fiasco so far.

Actually I'm pretty sure his favourite movie is Jerry Maguire. I know his favourite quote is definitely from that movie. 5 bonus points for the first person to guess the line!

Intel on the "gentleman's agreement"? Rumour and innuendo has been swirling round since 2009 about that. It wasn't secret information

no she wasn't.

she has always said it was in the contract, she changed it to an gentlemans agreement recently, and then to agreement outside the contract once the information came to light.

I'm starting to think this is less about Adelaide and more about the beat up from the Victorian Press.
Koutafides was just on Fox telling all who were interested that the AFC must be hit with a heavy penalty. This is another report from a growing number of nonsense reports from Journalists who believe they are in the know when it is plainly obvious the amount of real news is limited to press releases and emails from the AFL and the Adelaide Football Club. Emma and Carro have been busy slamming the club without any real insight into what is currently happening. The main problem is the season is over and there are several AFL journos with not much to report on at the moment so our predicament is their only focus. Everyone loves a good story so the media are really playing this up. When they start saying Van Berlo is also involved in salary Cap breaches it becomes comical. No club in their right mind would stoop to that level of stupidity. Nathan is a very good player but he is not worthy of salary cap breaches by us or any AFL club.

And no club in their right mind would agree to include a clause that they would trade their highest paid player to the club of his choice for a second round draft pick. Except, oh wait, we did!

Frankly, at this point, my expectations of the club are so low that I won't be surprised if even more revalations come out about things we did outside the rules. All I can do at this stage is just shake my head at the arrogance/stupidity of those involved in breaking the rules.

The AFL has one way of cutting down on the witness statements. Invite the ATO to observe proceedings.
I am sure they have been interested observers thus far
