Ireland "We'll give you pick 22 and Jesse White for Tippett"

Noble "No, we want more than pick 22 and White"

Ireland "Sorry that's all we are offereing"

Noble "Are you sure that you cant offering any us anything better ?"

Ireland "No, that's our final offer"

Noble "Okay, we'll take it"
Noble " Next time could you use some lubrication. This one really hurts"

i don't see there being any secret deal between sydney and gws, or sydney and anyone really. they know right now that they can get him for pick 22 and jesse white. why would they give up a better player to get pick 12? out of the goodness of their heart? they know they have us bent over, and besides sending him to the psd, there's not a damn thing we can do, except maybe kick up a massive fuss on the doorstep of the afl. but we all know that would be a massive waste of time, and it wouldn't happen regardless

Given how massively one sided this trade is... the damage is going to be felt for many years to come. Players will walk out for chips without fear forever more.

White is not required. Pick 22 is a small price to pay for sending him to the PSD. We can move on from that very quickly.

What has transpired is short term gain of pick 22, add 1 list clogger in J White and significant reputation damage.

The only possible rational for this trade is if there are other trades to be added on top of it whereby we are screwing the pants of another team.

Even given huge amounts of sugar coating this is a really bad decision. There is no other way to describe it... we do not need Jesse White on our list, it is a complete waste of salary cap and list space.

Absolutely complicit violation of the fabric of the club. For all the good work done this is really really bad. All the while KT gets to live happily ever after in his home away from home.

Yeah, who knew we had issues off the field......

who cares what others think? yeah we got bent over here. but it's not like we have 5-6 players walking out of the club. we still have exceptional players, we haven't descended into the rabble of a port or melbourne. we've lost a want-away player who has shown to be a coward and a liar, while being overpaid comparative to his output. i rate tippett, he's a great player, but has he shown anything with us to be worth a record contract? white + pick 22 is a disgusting trade, bordering on cheating, but it's not like tippett's our star player. hell, he's not even our best forward! who among us could even begin to justify the amount of cash thrown at him, not only by sydney, but by us?

this last month or so has shown who the real kurt tippett is. and good riddance.

What I don't get with all this, is Ireland has said he won't trade a premiership player, or some of their promising non-premiership players - perhaps he would like to enlighten us as to who Tippett is going to replace from the 22 premiership players??? Unless they want to pay $1m a year for someone outside their best 22, they must have someone in the side that will have to make way for him, as well as these other players (Rohan etc). Which would then leave more possibly disgruntled players that might entertain being traded. The meltdown on this board if we get White + pick 22 is going to be horrendous but for good reason.

I expect them to say at the presser "Sydney could not offer us any value for Kurt, and we will force him to the PSD, and/or field other offers." If this doesn't occur, they can spin it all they want, but they have still failed.

Whether you think we are being dudded or not, IF we get White, what would it do to the poor kids confidence, to come out in public and say wow what a shit house deal.

And are crows fans really that fickle that one trade will cause you to cancel your membership?

just found my avatar... had been agonising over it for a while. But it feels good to have finally nailed it.

You say White is a forward and ruck? That's the problem - he's neither. Below average KPF, and was behind Pyke (decent ruckman, but rubbish around the ground) in the ruck! If he comes here, both Jenkins and McKernan will be ahead of him in that category.

I would geniunely rather have the spot empty so we can try our luck in the draft, and at least try to fill one of our needs.

Too easy to be an arm chair critic when the guy hasn't even played a game for the club.

Do people think it likely that Sydney may do something with GWS to offer us another draft 1 pick so say:

13,22 and Jessica White?

He still has to agree to the contract - and no manager in his right mind is going to do that. Nor is any list manager in his right mind going to pay 1 player (from a list of 40) 1/3 of the team's entire salary cap for the entire year.

what i'm asking is, does kurt get to nominate the exact contract amounts that he requires over the duration of his nominated term. ie, does it come down to 4 years with yr1 $x, yr2 $y, yr3 $z, yr4 $zz. or does the club that intends to draft the player simply have to match the contract duration and the total amount to be paid during that period. what i was getting at, is if we said to kurt that we will pick him up again, but that he'd be getting sweet fa until his last year, he may be more likely to re-consider his stance on where he is prepared to be traded. i'm not seriously suggesting that we look to lock in half of our cap for 2016. the last thing we want is for him to be back at the club, but it seems to be the only tool we've got to get a decent deal for the whack-job.

From his point of view it's better than being delisted. So lets get that clear from the outset.

Is it worse because he takes up a spot? Or because of the sort of player he is - bearing in mind I know NOTHING about him other than what I've read in here. It's hard to know what is accurate given that half the posts in here also call Tippett a hack.

He takes up a spot.
He costs $300k, which the Swans will have to pay IF WE DON'T TAKE HIM

This is starting to get to Pakistani cricketer level of helping the opposition.
