I knew Claremont Oval was being redeveloped but a second tier appears to be overkill for 14 supportersNext time im gonna signal Swifty to kick the ball up into the 2nd tier

I have been a huge Tom Swift knocker for a long time...
But against Geelong he did his part. And that was negating Bartel.
Bartel only started getting influential when Swift got subbed out.
I say give credit to we're credit is due. Swift played well.
He may have only got 7 touches but when he got subbed off that was 5 more then JD.
His efforts around the packs in blocking were critical for Kerr to be released into space.
He IMHO played a very good Rowan Jones type game and if he continues to do this he deserves to keep his spot.

are you saying swift didn't play well against freo with 100% disposal efficiency? or that he won't bounce back next week?
i guarantee you if/when swift gets dropped he will not get 7 disposals in the WAFL.
I don't understand so called supporters who spend all night abusing their own players. How does that help? What do you think it does for a players confidence when he knows that any possession he gets that is less than perfect will be met with vitriolic abuse. Whether you're dealing with employees,
children or sportsmen encouragement is far more effective than abuse but so called supporters go out to destroy one of their own every week.

It is pretty weak. And I am glad it was a returning Embley who was our sub on Friday night. Else we could have had an Essendon style Stanton jeering incident to go along with all the other crap.

People were screaming out at Swift when he wasn't even near the ball that he ****ed up. Becoming a bit of a joke really the way he's being treated.

Starting to hope he asks for a trade and just dominates at another club. Supporters who bah Swift out at the footy are disgraseful, was sickening having to listen to some of the utter rubbish people were screaming out on Friday night.

His best games this year were away against Brisbane and Collingwood. He suffers from friendly fire at Subi aka being given the Fraser Gehrig treatment. I think for his own sake and for the team he needs to move on.
It's a shame it's come to a stage where (it looks like) his confidence is down when he plays at Subi. Imagine getting abused by your own fans. Copping abuse from YOUR OWN FANS on a consistent basis is not part of what you sign up for as an AFL footballer - being dissed by the opposition fans is at least understandable.
Swift will need to string together a few monumental performances to win back the respect of fans because there's no other way to appease the masses. Even one amazing 30+ possession 3+ goal game will be seen as an aberration because our fans will be expecting him to spud it up for the rest of his season/career. He's in deeper shit than Masten. All Masten had to do was play a few consistent games and kick some handy goals. Swift will need to become a demi-god to keep our supporters satisfied.

He had that one good handball, and I saw him give Kerr a chop out earlier on. Honestly though, that was about it. Quite a poor performance really. If he had have kicked that goal, it would've made all the difference.

Im not a fan of swifts 'performances' personally but I do feel for the bloke having to face such personal hostility from fans at a game, you'd have to be extremely thick skinned to let that shit slide off. At least the backlash he (and others) get on a website can be ignored by not visiting the website and reading the comments as Im sure a lot of players do unfortunately. You certainly wouldn't want to be suffering any form of depression or mental illness already that's for sure. Opinions on an internet forum are one thing but direct in your face insults are not cool.
The guy is never going to play good footy when his confidence keeps getting shot by our supporters. I have heard from Brad Sheppard that when he is in the dugouts all Swifty can hear is supporters yelling abuse at him. Personally I feel sorry for him, he is a human like anyone else, and to be abused week in, week out must be terribly tolling on the guy.
I thought he played real well on Friday, I just think he needs to bulk up somewhat and he'd be a much better player, though he is definitely improving. I think people abusing him is poor form for supporters and should perhaps consider wearing the purple patch from the homos down the road. You're probably are the type of people who would steal candy from a baby. I tell ya what if some of the people out there are so sure swift isn't going to make it, then get up off your seat, go out there and make it on the eagles list and de-throne him yourself. Put up or shut up!! If I could get tickets to a game, i'd probably end up throwing my beer on people ripping players on their own squad.

Were not Essenscum we shouldnt be jeering our own... Obviously the match commitee see something in him for him to keep getting a game, like Masto who just needed more game time. Now look at him, he is best 22 every week! He doesnt deserve this crap... Not on..
