We got 8 golds total in rio 2016. Up to 13 already in Tokyo.

In hindsight, we really struggled at Rio, didn’t we?

We had 8 gold and 29 medals in Rio - already surpassed midway through Day 9. I think it is a sign of underachievement.

I always think 15G/50T is a great result at the Olympics for Australia, that’s my benchmark we should be achieving every 4 years

Bridge too far at the moment, I hope that with Brisbane 2032 though the government pumps more money into it, this is something I think the Australian population is generally happy to chip in a few million dollars a year for.

Not realistic expectations that’s only ever been done once.

But pretty close to Sydney-Athens-Beijing. That is the standard we should be aiming for and I doubt anyone would dispute that London and Rio were failures.

Its annoying that they dont show the 470 events on 7 but we are looking ood in the current race. Aussies are in the front couple of spot and GB and NZ are back a bit

It was London that stung.

I spent the week in London during the games and the atmosphere was incredible with an excellent set up. But every single time some Brit heard my accent at the bar they had a smarmy comment for me. It didn't ruin the week for me but god damn they were all out for blood. The open areas with the bars/big screens were almost louder when the Aussies missed out than they were when GB medalled.

Funnily enough I want at the London Games as well and it hurt to see us not do so well and GB smash it.

I was in the olympic park watching on the big screen when Anna Meares beat peddleton in the cyclic. I absolutely lost it yelling and cheering. We needed that victory over the Brits after what had transpired during the Olympics.
