While I accept that, to deliver in an Olympic final is a whole other level of pressure. To beat someone who had not lost in an individual race in a final at the Olympics, it was a big task to take out ledecky.Before the race, Ledecky had 8 of the 10 fastest times and they were all between 2014 and 2018. She wasn't able to go faster than Ariarne's time that won her the 2019 World Champs which was the 9th fastest time in the 2 years leading up to this swim.
So it was Ledeckey who had to step up to match Titmus, not the other way round.
