While I accept that, to deliver in an Olympic final is a whole other level of pressure. To beat someone who had not lost in an individual race in a final at the Olympics, it was a big task to take out ledecky.

So the Olympic record has been broken 4 races in a row.
Not quite the pressure Cathy had at 2000, but was built up to be that clear expectant champion. Fantastic swim, you could see that the american tried to shake her loose at the 150m mark but she used up all of her ammo too early.
Hugely proud Tasmanian effort I say (watched her dad read the news for years).
