With 1x AA squad nomination and 0x team selections, Barrass has never been as good as Eagles supporters touted him to be.

These kind of comments don't help. Your coach thinks your club is in a premiership window and wants one of the best defenders in the game to complete his side. We want to keep that player in our side. The deal will be fair but it won't be on Hawthorn's terms.
Sorry, but your previous post suggested you are expecting two first rounders. There is just no way that is happening.
Yes we may have entered a premiership window, but on the flipside the Eagles won't challenge for a few more years, and by the time that they do. Barrass will either be on his last legs or retired. It would be highly negligent list management for the Eagles to not take a first rounder now which is whats on offer. Matthew Clarke knows this, which is why he is nervous and dances around the subject. Sleepy Mark is already 2 steps ahead of him.

Why not? We gifted you one in 2018 when Sammy took a bottom 5 midfield in the comp to a premiership. If we somehow get our hands on a top 10 pick, we are using it in the draft lol.

I still don’t buy the bolded.
If you wanted to keep him you would be in such an easy position to make him happy contract wise without hindering your salary cap.
I very much believe Weat Coast see this as a win win
The hawks seeing Barrass as gettable would also be a huge win for them, as we have said all along, the hawks knew roughly what Barrass would cost all along. They wouldn't have bothered if they thought he would be too expensive.
Barrass+f2 for 14+hawks f1 is not a steep price

It absolutely is a steep price, now maybe we pay it (I hope not). If we are parting with two firsts I would want this years 2nd.
Outside of that I hope we hold firm with our first either year and change.
You can go get another 2nd rounder this year with one of your 2 f2 picks. Go for your life

Barres is not someone we should be mortgaging our future for. If West Coast value him so highly I really hope we just say keep him.
One first + F2 is where I hope we draw the line. No idea of the club agrees but any more is more than I think he is worth.
Once again, it works both ways.
If WCE aren’t willing to let him go for what we see as reasonable, they are more than welcome to keep him, and delay their rebuild, which is already getting into dangerous territory with Tassie coming.
We’re not here to gift you a rebuild.
