In what world are baker and rioli worth more than barass? West Coast have every right to say where to go if noble and rioli are worth first or multiple firsts. WCE were stupid not having any FA coming out of contract while they bottomed, could have had multiple extra top three picks the last few years (Yeo, Kelly, Barrass), and next year (Allen), while moving out the dead wood.

If they told Barrass to find a new home, an Barrass and his manager feel the Hawks offered fair compensation…. Those involved may see it differently!

Alternately Barrass was assured by Hawthorn that they had the draft capital to get the deal done.
Tommy believed that is was a done deal after WC told him they would work with Hawks and see if the could get a deal done, hence his acceptance speech.

Hawks were firm on what they would offer, Eagles firm on what they would accept, the two assessments didn't align.

Thats trading sometimes the ducks line up, however they didn't do so this time.

Both Clubs move on, no hard feelings.

Not sure if you realise barass is contracted to 2027. Second in the league in intercept marks and top 5 key defenders in the league at 28 he's got plenty in the tank

As per them Suns offerred Pick 6 for Rioli(some Sal paid), 10 & 18 for Bolton.

Baker's value was unclear but most tiger fans thought they can snag him with a swap of pick 14 for 24. I rate him around pick 20ish.

Barrass for F1(Haw) & F2(Carl) is the deal on table satisfying Matty Clarke's demand for 1st and 2nd round pick.

Up to Eagles how they deal with Tigers for Baker. Not my drama. Maybe F1(Haw) with something coming back would satisfy the tigers, maybe not.
