The meltdowns in here from West Coast fans expecting two firsts are pure comedy.

You guys are going around in circles working yourselves up for no reason whatsoever.

I look forward to revisiting this thread once the deal goes through and he's a Hawk.

But until then, I'm not coming back because it's just the same delusional 3 of 4 West Coast nuffies going around and around like broken records.....have fun yelling into the void ✌️
No one GAF if you're here not.

Weagles were not asking for 2x 1st's... but wanted more than just your 1st.
Now you don't have any this year...

Yes, you have publicly targeted 2 key defenders for very good reason as a priority.

It won't be a good look getting a player to agree to join you, then fail to trade them.
Tell you what how good is Frost …… Hawks are targeting and need to bring in two defenders in Battle and Barrass to replace him. Gun!

Only 1 of these clubs is a chance to make finals... & that club is lacking a quality key defender.

Hawks have far more to lose if this trade falls over.
Shhh dont tell anybody

But the Hawks got Battle as a free agent , I think they are ok

Why do you think the only positions you have been seriously targeting with FA & trades are 2 key defenders?

Won't be a good look if you fail to pony up after targeting Barrass hard during the year.

We are looking at adding quality to the list wherever we can find it.

We've been chasing hard for key forwards but clubs aren't going to let them go so easy. Pretty sure we've had a crack at the King's and JUH this year.

Battle was the best available free agent and has the flexibility to pinch hit forward. Flexibility is something Mitchell values highly. We've seen Weddle play in the ruck/CHF, Sicily to FF, Hardwick up forward and this gives us another lever to play with.

Barrass is the best available KPD and is a handy bonus but I wouldn't hinge our finals chances on whether we land him or not.

Jeremy Cameron isnt a big powerful forward, hes tall but relies on athletic ability more than strength. Not like the Thilthorpes of the world do
How many good clubs have big powerful forwards?
Sydney, Brisbane, Port and Geelong were top 4 and I would say none of them do now.

They were always in reference to pick purchasing (paying Barrass salary) and a WCE 2nd going back (so a slide of a few places). The market value from WCE fans has always been relative to the OOC Baker value. If OOC Baker is valued 14, IC Barrass needs to be more. Hawthorn has been used as a trojan horse by Carlton trying to ambush WCE pick 3 for FOS. Hawthorn has definitely lost all leverage, totally flunked the trade. WCE failed by conceding Baker value and will be totally ruined if pick 3 is traded. We have the two worst list managers.

Carlton is less chance of getting p3 than I am of driving an F1 car next year so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Another way Cameron is not like Thilthorpe is Cameron routinely kicks bags of goals.
Thilthorpe is a young player who hasnt had a key role yet. Its dishonest to compare him to others who have been the #1/2 KPF for years now
King just got an 8 year contract with the Saints. Do we worry about them as well?

We did just fine with a single key back. Next year we will have 2 with Sicily, Battle and Weddle. The idea that we are desperately in need of Barrass is ridiculous. He will be a great addition but we still get by without him.
If youre relying on those 3 to be your KPDs well youre gonna have issues

Or WCE want an extra one just in case Warner doesn't stay at the Swans.
Thats not(or shouldnt be) a concern. If Warner wants to go we will find something, we have 2026 and 2027 future picks as well as our normal picks to use after all.
We would make it happen, hard part is getting Warner to pick us over Freo if he does indeed want to come home

This is Riley Thilthorpe.

We did fine this year with Frost, Scrimshaw, Sicily and Weddle. Next year we add Battle at least. How often does a key forward have a massive influence on a final that isn't a blow-out?

The only forwards to get a hold of us after Round 7 were Cameron and Hogan. In both of those game Weddle spent a lot of time on them. Battle coming should provide a better solution to the Cameron problem and for probably Hogan as well as he is a better option than Weddle if Frost is forced on to someone else.

Anyone actually consider that Richmond wanted future picks for Baker?

Now being reported that Hawthorn have offered a F1 and a F2 (WC can choses HFC or Carl picks) for Barass and a F3.

Then either that F1 or WC's F2 for Baker.
Richmond will not be accepting future picks for baker unless west offer their future first.

Do the Hawks really think they can contend with Frost as their main key defender...

This thread is about Barrass.

Imo, the Hawks can't threaten for a flag without a gun key defender.

This is why you need someone like Barrass.

Do you honestly think you can rely on Frost?
We have a key defender who showed plenty in Blanck, his recovery from a pre season ACL has jusr been unfortunately slowed by recurrent infections.
Reports are that's thankfully now behind him so Barrass might be surplus to our needs in the not too distant future.
Obviously he's handy to have regardless but perhaps the urgency isn't the same as it was when we first started talks.

Yet forgot Thilthorpe wasn't playing...

Any way the point is the Hawks won't be a chance for a flag without a decent key defender.

Frost is average which is why you chased Barrass so hard.
But he did play, those are some scary numbers. Man I feel sorry for Frosty having to play on such a lethal weapon 😂😂

Battle has kicked 4 goals in 3 years. Real swingman
