You've no idea how much or how little effect this supposed "mental illness" has had on Boyd's ability to play football. It certainly isn't stopping him from playing VFL, and right or wrongly once a player crosses the white line they should be considered fit.

Boyd has mental health issues? So does most of the population in some form or another, by and large it doesn't stop them turning up to work everyday. Your club should've done due diligence on Boyd's character (or lack thereof) before throwing $7m at a boy in a man's body. What did you think would happen?

Rubbish. Big blokes take time and just as Boyd broke out he suffered significant mental health issues. Bagging his form when he hasnt even played a game after taking time for mental health is pathetic.

He has played many games for VFL and his captain says form is whats keeping him out. No other issues.

I didnt see a lot of courageous games out of Tom Boyd when he played for GWS - he had, what, 8 contested marks in 2014 ? Had four tackles against Collingwood, so there's that.

Sad fact is, Boyd could be just another potentially great player cut down in his prime by injury/illness. Like N Daniher or Greening. Sad situation but at least he is well paid.

On one hand, he outscored Brisbane today.
On the other hand, Sam Weideman also kicked 5 against Coburg last week. Harley Balic kicked 6.
