How is his pace looking? My biggest concern for Langers, as much as I like him, is if he's lost his pace he has lost one of his major weapons.
Langdon's p-o-d from someone like Shaz for mine is his ability to be quick of mark and get to, and impact multiple contest. Without it I see them as pretty similar as good readers of the ball in flight and solid hands, and while Langdon is more attacking with the ball Shaz plays it safer, and neither are big enough to play as pure KPD's.

Not saying either of them are necessarily bad, but what gives Langdon an edge on Shaz is his speed.

speed and leap and general athleticism

Tom was so good for us in 2018 it would be an amazing story to get him back this year.

As a player he has grown on me over the years and I'm sure the adversity he has faced has given him a new appreciation for football.

Is that Boyd he’s marking in front of there?

Yes, and it appears that Boyd still doesn't miss leg day.

The fact that he is around is probably one of the reasons the defence is doing so well.

Did we ever get to the bottom of what is actually wrong with the knee - given Langdon dismissed Bone on Bone as being the issue.
Don't think we know the exact term, but knee cartilage damage. But they seem to have a control on it at the moment.

I hear he has boney knees. At least he hasn't been working his fingers to the bone..... ooooohhhh
Boney fingers, boney fingers- Hoyt Atxon . Great song and Hoyt was in Gremlins...

Thought he would get back when he started playing the scratch matches.
I dont know how he could recover from that injury and now soreness apparently puts a line through his career
If he is to retire itll be a shame.

Have you actually heard something or is it just speculation?
Earlier this season Buckley said similar things about Tom facing decisions about his future.
The scratch matches were an opportunity to test his knee on a weekly basis and determine if playing next year was viable
After he couldn't complete a game then couldn't get up. Looks like the writing is on the wall.
Buckley again saying he has decisions to make looks ominous sadly

" Meanwhile, the news isn't as positive for defender Tom Langdon, whose playing future remains in doubt after his long-term knee problem flared during a practice match against Brisbane last month.

His knee has been problematic and he hasn't done much for the last week and a half, Buckley said.

"It was too sore to continue in the practice match against Brisbane. He’s a very good footballer and an important person at our club."

"There are some decisions to be made by Tom to see what the next steps are."

We know that his knee will never heal and he cannot get through short scratch matches, no real point keeping him on the list next year

Perhaps I'm very narrow in my focus but Collingwood seem to lose a lot of potential stars like this-Rusling, Walker, Orval and now Langdon. They never get a chance to hit their prime due to some ongoing injury. I'm sure there are more.

Scharenberg, Dick off the top of my head.

I'd love to carry him on the rookie list for one more year if there was room, and any prospect of improvement in his physical condition in the medium term. But with lower caps, smaller lists, and the inevitable dead weight from carrying a Beams payout that probably wont be possible. And from what I'm reading the chances of improvement are remote.
