He's at struggle town.
Horribly out of form. No longer intercept marking. Kicking is poor. Decision making atrocious. He can't play as a mid because he isn't clean enough handling the ball and he can't play as a forward because he isn't a natural goal kicker or have that class factor you need as a forward.

Goldsack should come in for him.

Doubtful. Look at nearly any player outside of Judd over the first 5 years of their career. He will get better. I think Langdon is about to get his wake up moment.
Soon he will remember the small things that made him a valuable player in his first and second year. Then with the benefit of experience he will improve again

There are tonnes of players who never really get any better after their first few years.

Remember Sidebottom dominating Grand Finals as a 19 year old? He is still the same player all these years later

Same as Joel Selwood, Daniel Rich, Heppell ect.

Some kids peak early and stay there. More common than you think, especially for those with ready made AFL bodies.

I 100% agree, but Rich aside I think your examples are poor. The ones that immediately spring to mind are Palmer, Scully, D. Pearce and the one that Langdon's form plateau most reminds me of, Raines.

Looks like a young kid that has played over 40 games in 2 years.

Fantastic effort to come into this system and play to the capacity that he has for as long as he has, nearly all young kids go through slumps of some level and if he needs to go back to VFL for a while then so be it, but he will be a champion of the club by the time his career is done.

In his own mind he already is.

Sorry if it's been talked about but did anyone see Langdon not paying attention and nearly giving away a 50 during a set shot for Richmond?

The scene:
Pendles on the mark while Riewoldt/Vickery (i think) are having a set shot at the punt rd end.
Pendles is screaming at him to get out of the zone but he isn't paying attention.

He had his head in the clouds.

This word is bandied about too frequently.

We have about 5 champions in the last 10 years: Swan, Pendlebury, Didak, Cloke & Maxwell. You are being wildly optimistic if Langdon, based on exposed form and haircut, make it into this esteemed company.

You're right the word is bandied about too frequently - Cloke and Maxy aren't champions either. Champions in my mind are players like Bucks, Daics, Rowdy, Pants, Pendles and Swanny. Dids is borderline.

I include Cloke and Maxy because their individual efforts in the finals and GFs meant that we won 2010.

I myself admit to being perhaps slightly over optimistic at times, but I genuinely believe what Langdon has achieved in his first 2 seasons is a remarkable effort, and he will continue to improve throughout his career.

There will be further obvious hurdles throughout his career, but as it stands he is panning towards a 200+ game career, and as mentioned if he continues to improve upon his first 2 seasons, he will certainly be regarded very highly come the end of his career, how highly is obviously speculative, and i'm putting my chips on champion status, we will see.

On exposed form Hogan will be something of a dud, you can only read so much into it, but I understand peoples concerns.

I can't defend his haircut.

And we also forget many others like Shaw and Beams.
