Exactly the type needed especially with Grundy gone. By position first possession mid and full back were our two priorities. Certainly can see us allowing Mitchell to play to his strengths. DeGoey another who will be much more damaging with Mitchell feeding it to him.

The most unfairly maligned player in the comp. Gets slammed because he's not- a great short kick, rather than what he is- close to the best clearance player in the comp when he's on.

Was back to best the second half of 2021, so he isn't damaged goods. Had his bounce ratio halved this season so this explains his quieter stats this year.

Very good trade, keeping 27 and 25 as live picks or options to trade lower down.

Tom Mitchell is a tireless workhorse who is a great tackler and great ball winner. He will need to work hard to earn a spot in our midfield, but it's there for him.

He is a huge get to support the Daicos boys and Pendles and will be able to release DeGoey as well.

I know McRae and co will be working on him getting 25 touches and 10 tackles with a heap of inside ball, rather than 40 touches a week without much damage. I believe he can do it. Go back and watch his performance in the 2016 GF, he can play on the big stage.

Was great to get Mitchell in along with Pick 25 at the death which makes losing Henry an easier pill to swallow.

Our depth and team balance has really improved over this trade period.

Yes, we lose Grundy and Henry, however this does not impact team balance. We lost a ruckman when we have two already and one in the VFL and we lost a medium forward, well we have a stack of them with Elliot, Ginni, Johnson, McCreery, Hill, JDG, WHE, Steele etc, plenty there.

Our deficiencies IMHO were in three positions, and we have recruited to fill them.
