I'm inclined to the view that it was Fly and the changes he has wrought at Collingwood that attracted Tom and also inclined to think he won't be the last.

I am a big Bobby Hill fan and I do like McStay as a player, but Mitchell was our best acquisition this trade period.

It's a 3-year deal according to Josh Gabelich.

Was great to get Mitchell in along with Pick 25 at the death which makes losing Henry an easier pill to swallow.

Our depth and team balance has really improved over this trade period.

Yes, we lose Grundy and Henry, however this does not impact team balance. We lost a ruckman when we have two already and one in the VFL and we lost a medium forward, well we have a stack of them with Elliot, Ginni, Johnson, McCreery, Hill, JDG, WHE, Steele etc, plenty there.

Our deficiencies IMHO were in three positions, and we have recruited to fill them.
1. KPD - Billy Frampton (help out Darcy)
2. KPF - Daniel McStay (help out Checkers)
3. Contested/Clearance Ball Mid - Tom Mitchell (get the pill out to the runners)

Now, all these three guys may not be the best in the business at these roles, but they can play these roles competently which is what we need.

We have balance and that is the start of a premiership team.

Geelong has 1 superstar, the tigers had 1 only during their run, the rest of them are all role players. We have a great chance to go further next year, I think we'll see a much more aggressive in your face Magpies, all those big guys, with Hill providing speed and hopefully a bit of villianary. The Pies certainly won't be everyone second favorite team.

I'll state it here but yeah.

Went to the final as a neutral against Freo and ended up being super happy watching Collingwood, had a bunch of good lads around me too, awesome team to watch and a bunch of likeable characters. Fly, Pendles, Crisp, Moore, Nicky D etc etc so many.

After that i was honestly very happy to say that i liked them as a team and a club and that they'd probably be top 5 favourites for me.

As a big Tom Mitchell fan, both on field when i fell in love with his game in 2018 (17) but also 16. But also off-field with the way he carries himself, his ball magnets stuff and just him as a bloke, couldn't be more happy for him to find a good home, he'll probably get 75-80% CBAs in '23 and i can see him being in brownlow contention, getting back to his absolute best.

And since then, i'm happy to say Collingwood are def a top 3 favourite team for me, alongside Freo & Brisbane.

Knows his limitations with his kicking , hence his slick hands come to the fore , great pick up , seems very well respected by friend and foe , going by the tweet that Jen shared. I feel a flag coming home .
