It may well be that Titch’s plantar fascia release surgery indirectly contributed to the development of a second metatarsal stress fracture. Releasing the plantar fascia weakens the longitudinal arch and increases the load on the forefoot making it more prone to developing stress fractures.
Sounds ominous. I don't imagine There's a quick fix?

Only the rude ones.

Goes down a treat on a crowded train.

I doubt we see much of him in 2025.

Body ageing… now a limited preseason… and more competition for midfield spots now
My like for this comment is not that I like the content, but what you have said is true.
I don't think Titch will be able to play a significant role next year.
Bring on the next generation of inside mids who can contest stoppages in the pressurised heat that the game still entails around the ground.

I hope you are right about the more competition for midfield spots part... Titch is a particular type of player and any exact or very similar replacement for him will not be subject to any competition.

No rush to be back at the start of the seaon. As long as he's fit and firing come the business end, that's what counts. He's been around long enough to ensure his fitness base is large enough to weather a slow start.

Oh the pre-season thing doesn't bother me that much

By the time most ultra professional footballers are in their 30s the fitness value of a pre-season is going to be at least somewhat diminished. I doubt Titch is going to have an issue with "fitness" per se

More about I guess, conditioning leading into the rigours of the season proper? (I'm probably not explaining myself properly). Also, just for us to have him in the side for as many games as possible.

I think it's clearly a long shot he returns to the best 22.

Many people forget in 2023 he actually didn't have a great year, just finished strongly in the finals. Turning 32 and a lot of the past 12 months has been recovering from foot injuries. A premiership contender needs to have younger players taking the spots of guys like him
