Yeah i would not feel afraid to throw on Bad Ass Me for a bunch of people..that does not really fly with Real Gone Or Blood money:p

waits sums up the idea of Bad as me..

My wife Kathleen wanted to do 12 three-minute songs. Get in, get out. No ****ing around. Because people don't have a lot of time. The way I think is more like, "Oh, you got time for 19 songs on there? Put 19 songs on there, baby." She says," No, no, no. Twelve." Like the eggs, 12. You can do a lot in two minutes. So I'm starting to get more economical as I go. Don't overstate, don't restate.

yeah.
it just works really well like that. keeps you wanting more.
there are 3 bonus songs knocking about, will have to track them down:thumbsu:

I bought the deluxe edition cd which is like a hard cover book and includes the 3 bonus tracks which are:

She Stole The Blush
Tell Me
After You Die

It's a 15 track album if you ask me.

are they good tracks son?
what are your fav's?

Love it all, all 15 tracks, but Hell Broke Luce is an absolute standout and would sit comfortably with any of Toms greatest work.

It was only an extra couple of bucks for the 3 bonus tracks but well worth it.

I still have not got the new one yet, but this review has just made it's purchase inevitable !

In these difficult economic and political times, hearing music this excellent from an old master who is well along the road to senior citizenship is a sweet and welcome beacon in the fog — even when much of the music is dark and threatening. It’s reassuring that Waits is awake and creating, making music that still matters, growling with the alley cats and bellowing like an immortal.

Serendipitously, I spoke to my former wife just now. She agrees with me, after all this time, that the Tom Waits concert was the best she'd ever attended, 33 years thereafter. She was a serious concert goer, as was I.

This is a signal day. That she and I still agree is remarkable indeed. It has rarely happened.

I lost hope a long time ago unfortunately.

On Bad As Me, picked up the deluxe version the other day, so, so good. His ballads are as amazing as always and Chicago is a great tune to kick off with. Can't stop listening.

It's one Deluxe Edition CD that was well worth the extra couple of dollars.

number 6 in the usa album charts!
coldplay,kelly clarkson,buble,adele,toby keith,TOM WAITS..
LOL

I've only heard of two of those people, one being Mr Waits the other being Curdplay.

I've got a feeling by your reaction m.r. that I'm not missing much with the other four "artists".

whats the odds this bloke will tour this year?

Unfortunately I reckon the chances are very slim, he hates touring and flying - but a slim chance is better than no chance.

I'm hoping that he'll be playing somewhere I am in the US when I'm over there in March.

Found a great bargain at JBs recently.

They have a series of CDs called the Original Album Series.

They come in a carboard sleeve and have 5 CDs in each of original albums by a wide variety of artists. $20 each for 5 CDS !!!!!

I got Tom Waits which had Closing Time, The Heart of Saturday Night, Nighthawks at the Diner, Small Change and Foreign Affairs.

Small Change was the only one of those that I had on CD previously.

I also bought Warren Zevon, James Taylor, Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris but that is by the by :)

Edit - There is a Kris Kristofferson one too. Amazing :thumbsu:
