He is ****ing up 3aws sports program. He thinks Starcavich wasnt involved in the trade for Buckley. He doesnt even think Collingwood got Buckley to Collingwood through a trade. He just said on radio that Starcavich went to Brisbane as a runner, not in a trade.

What a *******, get him off please.

You only just realised?

No, unfortunately he has ruined my pleasure of listening to 3aws sports programs for quite some time now. I'd just wish he'd go away.

Now that Danihers gone, maybe there is a spot for him at collingwood again? Please.

Talked about 'we' when discussing collinwood trades - then berated someone for suggesting he wasn't commenting neutrally

Defended hawthorn to the hilt for playing hardball - then berated port for doing the same

Attacked port at any opportunity.

At least dermot realises when he sounds like he is being biased

I think Collingwood supporters hate him the most..He likes to bag the **** outa of his former club

Reminds me of an episode of "White Line Fever" on FoxFooty prior to the Round 22 Collingwood Vs Essendon game ...

Tony tipped the Bombers, stressing that the conditions would be fine, dry and still and it would suit the Bombers saying their recent dominance over the Pies might give them the edge. (The conditions were windy as, and Collingwood were deserving winners in a tight one by 16 points).

Anyway, a Collingwood supporter by the name of "Zac" called the show, and told Tony Shaw that being a Collingwood premiership captain he should be a lot more positive on Collingwood and criticised him for tipping the Bombers. Sound familar?

Maybe Tony Shaw is still dirty on them for sacking him in 1999.

That is not funny.... thats my last name aswell and its old. No offence or anything :) im sure he deserves it

I have a question, how does a man such as he keep his job in the media? I watched him in his analysis of the draft on Fox Footy...was everyone else who could offer reasoned, concise opinion on holiday or something?

Yeah, like Tony saying we wouldn't make the Finals until 2004? (must have timed it on his son being old enough to be drafted to us that year :D )

Gee whiz, I can't wait to be a part of it next year.

To be kind he's mildly tolerable when commenting on football, but he's dreadful when offering his "special comments" on any other sport, as he has the opportunity to do on 3AW during summer.

Still, I'm sure nothing he said today is as funny as the time last year when he said that Hawthorn may improve once Paul Salmon got back into the side!

He can act like a bit of a FAT PIG sometimes,

that's when he really crossed the line. OK, Dean Rioli is pretty overweight compared with your average AFL player but to say that in the media there must be something wrong upstairs (which being an ex-Collingwood captain, would hardly come as a shock).

Tony Shaw seems to let his bitterness get in the way of making a decent comment. Whether it be because he was told to quit as coach, or something else. He really should think out his comments in the medai, as should Dermie.

Yes it was appalling. his analysis was shallow and provocative.
He could not even see the reasons for Ports decision on Stevens, let alone analyse them. He was blinkered in the extreme and it just smacked of bias, because Collingwood didnt get Stevens.

Funny contrast to guests such as Waldron and others who appluaded Ports decision and brought forth there reasoning for their support.

All Shaw could say was that Port had lost, and that was that.

Joffaboy, whether you agreed with Shaw or not, it had nothing to do with Collingwood's involvement. He has been very forthright in criticising Collingwood since he was effectively sacked. If he couldn't see the reasons for Port's actions or could and didn't agree with them it is because of Tony Shaw and not because he used to player for and coach Collingwood.

The problem with Tony Shaw is not only his lack of general knowledge, reasoned thought and a below average IQ. It is his lack of preparedness for everything he does.

His segments with Neil Mitchell in dealing with sport in general are to be quite frank, embarrassing.

Tony "I didn't realise that but...." Shaw
