Yes mundine was a pansy boy, and still is one, the only reason he looks good in the ring is cause he fights either rookies or hasbeens! Put him up against Danny Green and it'll be a Round 1 KO!

Put him up against an AFL player and pretty suire he would sit any of them on his ass.

Granted he has fought mostly has beens or never weres but you still have to win and he has competed and won a world title. You dont do that without strength and talent.

some years ago a boxing match was organized between rugby players V AFL and televised. IIRC Richard Champion , Mark Jackson ..and i think Misiti were representing the AFL , only Champion won his bout IIRC but mal Maninga was absoloutely awesome..he just kept walking forward and hitting Jacko with these huge jabs that poor old Jacko had no answer too ..the man was like a machine he was unstoppable . Jacko wnet down about 4 times before the fight was stopped .

No, But i'm thinking if he did hit someone, The person that recieved the punch wouldnt have much of a jaw left.

I love AFL players and admire how ahtletically talented they are, but fighting isn't up their alley. Particularly against guys who are also athletically talented* but are much bigger and stronger than them.

*on average the leaguies are much more athletic than they're getting credit for on this thread - they'd probably be only a level or two (on average) below an AFL footballer

A few guys would handle themselves - Barry Hall (wasn't he an amatuer boxer), Jon Brown, Mal Michael, Anthony Rocca and perhaps even a few of the smaller guys like Byron Pickett, Damien Hardwick etc,.

But on general put them against the legaue guys and they'd be battling. Some of the gorilla's playing in the NRL would only have to lay one punch on the AFL guys and it'd be lights out.
