If you "can't understanding" why, don't worry. It is called difference of opinion. Anyway, even if you don't like Arghoslent, they are still clearly as talented as any metal band on the planet as far as instrumental skill go. Up there with Psycroptic and Meshuggah.

Alcest, as with all black and/or ambient metal, is going to be a love/hate thing.

I made a typo and that is your main argument against me? I couldn't give a flying ____ about instrumental skill to be honest. If they make shit music they are shit however well they play their instruments. If I was in a band I would shoot myself if someone compared me to Psycroptic or Meshuggah. And black metal is a genre that demands elitism, which means that ineliteries like Alcest can ____ off.

You're incoherent. Had a few beers at the footy did we?

You're the kvlt figure huh. Rattling a few pub bands that nobody has ever heard of. Good for you mate :p

You would maybe like the new Arghoslent album :D Which by the way is in the top 5 albums this year for me, even though they are racist assholes.

Meshuggah
The Ocean
Morgion compilation+stuff (hasn't been released yet but i know it will be number 1 for me this year)
Alcest
Arghoslent

Cheers for the tip mate :thumbsu:

I'm probably not the biggest metal fan but I'll see if I can track some of their stuff down.

3. Flight of the Conchords by Flight of the Conchords - laugh out loud funny. Clever stuff from NZ's finest.

It's hard for me to add this to the list given that there's essentially no new stuff in there - Anybody who's got their live albums and/or seen their HBO series has heard all the stuff before.

That said, it is their first major studio release, and it IS funny. I was disappointed that If You're Into It didn't get a run though. I suppose it doesn't really make all that much sense out of context, but still, it's golden.

Like this line too, but it's not on the album:

"Bret, you got it going oh-on,
That's the conclusion that I've come to,
But that doesn't mean that I want to bum you"

Gunna put a couple down that are parallels apart genre wise but both great listens.

Elbows - The Seldom Seen Kid is amazing

Firewind - The Premonition is great as well

Couldn't agree more!

I was actually talking to a friend about this album the other day, and mentioned that I was disappointed those two songs in particular didn't make the cut.

Bret - Can I please have a look at the lyrics? This is another one of your weird songs, man.
Jermaine - In what way?
Bret - Well what's this bit here about 'sometimes I put a wig on you when we're on tour'?
Jermaine - ...Put a wig on you? No... I didn't say anything like that.
Bret - Well, that's definately a bit gay.
Jermaine - ...What is?
Bret - Putting a wig on me when I'm asleep.
Jermaine - I think sometimes you hear what you want to hear. :D:thumbsu:

I'm glad Murray got his song in there though. Forgot about Jermain's little 'somethingsomethingsomething panties on' rap and damned if I didn't crack up.

My three favourites...

We Are Scientists - Brain Trust Mastery' is okay (not as good as previous release)
Cut Copy's - In Ghost Colours
Lightspeed Champion - Falling Off the Lavender Bridge (very under rated IMHO)

I think the Presets has been somewhat over rated.
Good but far from great.

indeed!

lightspeed champion is awesome.

id say:
lightspeed champion - falling off the lavender bridge
collections of colonies of bees - birds
cut copy - in ghost colours
tokyo police club - elephant shell
and not that ive heard it yet but.....port obrien's forthcoming album (it will slay)

Just heard the new Raconteurs album, it's a gem.

In no particular order the best albums I've heard are:

The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery
Muse - H.A.A.R.P (Does that count?)
The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement
Gyroscope - Breed Obsession

I would've included HAARP and Shine a Light but they're both live albums, thus compilations. So I don't count them due to my theory about Compilations in Best Of lists.

If you're going to include Compilation Albums then why not get a 70 Disc Set together, call it "The Best of Music" and put that at #1.

Here is a video from each of my top 5.

1. Presets - Apocalypso
This Boy's In Love

2. Falling Off The Lavender Bridge by Lightspeed Champion
indeed!

lightspeed champion is awesome.
Thank you all - I just listened to this album today, and it is absolutely terrific. Definitely makes my list.

I actually Downloaded Madonna's New Album Hard Candy on the Internet and the Abum is not out until Saturday(I'll buy the album then)! If you like Justin Timberlakes FutureSex/love sounds(2006) you will love this album. Madonna worked with today's biggest hip hop produces Pherrel Williams, Justin Timberlake and Timberland on the album and i would say it is better the her last album which sold over 8 million worldwide in confessions on a dancefloor and is up there with her 2 best albums Ray of Light (1998) and Like a Prayer (1989). And the Album is a pop album is a mixture if Hip Hop Beats!

Expect this to be Madonna's 9th No.1 Album come next sunday. highlights are:

Give it 2 me (Best single off the album, will be the next single)
4 Minutes (Current single and currently No.3 in Australia and U.S Charts)
Miles Away
Devil wouldn'tRecognize you
Heartbeat
The Beat Goes On Feat. Kanye West
and
Voices
