Has absolutely no trust in the medical staff, coaching staff or committee.
And all his family and personal support agree with him.
As I said awhile ago, Carlton bound.

See post 5
In my desire to include a Port Adelaide slant on everything which has nothing to do with Port Adelaide

Trac to Carlton, McKay to PA, Houston to Melbourne, plus usual draft picks and makeweight players and salary dumps etc

Assuming of course McKay would want to wreck his lifestyle and stall his career coming to us!

John Noble is just vacating number 9 for Christian Petracca, he has always been the ultimate team man.

Vibe I get is that he is a class act and a true professional and the way Melbourne have handled their cultural issues the last few seasons have taken its toll on him and enough is enough.
The "cutrual issues" line is a load of crap. Pretty much every great team in history has "cultural issues". It's only the media and peanuts like us online that care about it, the best players are up to their eyeballs in it.

Have any of the Melbourne fans bleating about 'bUt hE sIgNeD a cOnTrAcT' considered whether they would continue working for an employer who quite literally nearly killed them due to medical negligence, contract or no contract?

Even the Collingwood players who deliberately went easy on Trac showed more concern for his wellbeing than the disgraceful way your club treated him. I hope he walks and Melbourne get a future fifth rounder for him, it'd be more than they deserve.

One vibe I'm getting is he seems to be heavily influenced by his lawyer/brand manager girlfriend. Never heard of a player wanting to go to another club to improve their "personal brand" before.
Even if it’s true he’d have been better off putting it to the side.

Dilutes the importance of the medical and Oliver issues which most people would consider serious issues.

You've never heard anyone express a desire to play for a big Victorian club? Same, same.

Incredibly naive if you think players dont take into account their "personal brand" as you put it.

I've heard of players wanting to go to a big vic club to play in front of big crowds, have better facilities, chance to win a flag yada yada. But it's the first I've heard to help enhance their off-field personal brand, which is how they've put it, not me.

That Petracca wants to focus on his personal brand profile obviously didn't come from him or his manager. Even if there's a great deal of truth to it, there are ways to talk about these things and yet it's been put out there in such a way that some posters are now describing him as a "complete flog".

Now who would have an interest in promoting the idea that Petracca's dissatisfaction with MFC reflects his own selfish desires rather than issues at the club? It's a complete mystery.

Well said!

Players can't dictate their destination if they are contracted.
On the contrary, that's exactly when they can dictate it. Melbourne's only options are to trade him where he wants to go, or pay him $1.2m to play for them next season when he may be uninvested / disgruntled. They can't force him to go to another club because he could say, nah i'll just take another $1.2m off you and try again next year.
