With Adelaide losing Jenkins and Betts and Walker rumoured to be another who may leave, they'd probably be open to a little forward 50 experience.

Something like Keath for 30 and Gowers could be a decent result all round.
Gowers is a decent medium forward... that is overs and we need to keep him and play him as a medium forward

With Lloyd doing so well this year and Dale's form late in the year, Gowers looks a way off best 22 at present.

I was trying to think of a scenario where we have a player who may be of more value to a potential trade partner than he may be to our list.

If it provides Gowers with more opportunity also, then it benefits all parties which is the ultimate goal of a trade.

Lloyd is 30 next year

Ridiculously early nuffman speculation post:

Subject to what the market dictates is the three players’ value, our position might well be along the lines of telling the Suns, Saints & Crows that whoever offers us the best pick with their player can have our first rounder.

I could see us realistically getting two of the players we’re rumoured to be chasing via a three way trade, with all parties fairly compensated.

If i could turn on the 2K Trade override

I would pitch it like this
Pick 12 to Martin and 2020 Second Round

Pick 30 and Pick 41 to Saint Kilda for Josh Bruce and 2020 Third Round Pick

Pick 46 to Hawks for Issac Smith and 2020 Fourth Round Pick

Take Pick 48, 84 and 102 into the draft

Pick 12 could easily be pick 15 or 16 depending on bidding
Saint kilda get two top 50 picks for other trades
We pay a bit over for Smith

In:
Martin
Bruce
2020 Second Round Pick
2020 Third Round Pick
2020 Fourth Round pick

Bank points for Jamara

No Keath?

I don't see Schache and Bruce in the same forward line. To unwieldy.

If we managed to get Bruce I reckon we'll throw him down back with Young and Cordy. He's a really solid unit and hard to move and played his first season or two there. Just what we need against the power forwards. He's a left footer too which Bevo has obviously got a thing for.

Bruce and Young would be a good combo, and would allow Cordy to rotate either forward or back, with Naughton and Bruce also able to pinch hit at either end for even more flexibility.

Seriously though. The notion from most here that we need some super fast crumbling forward is stupid. We have scored heavy this year without one. Why? Because in case some havent noticed but a lot of our crumbling goals have come from our midfield rotations and wings. How many times has Lipinski, Bont, Dunkley, Smith, and even Macrae and Maclean kicked crumbling goals? Not to mention the ones that are already there in Lloyd, Dickson and Dale. Apart from the 6- 6 rule at the centre bounce, most of our mids race forward when we are surging forward from back of centre. Having three mobile forwards where two at the moment are good contested mark's and one lead up in Schache and Dale would be heaven.
Wrote similar thing a few pages back so thumbs up to you sir. Our game style has our mids surging forward to apply forward 50 pressure. small crumbing forwards won’t make a huge difference in my opinion...what we have lacked up until recently is contested marking in our 50, with an undersized forward line. Big bodied backlines would simply out mark us time and time again meaning the ball was coming out too easily too frequently. As long as we can bring the ball to ground we are dangerous....

That's huge unders for Bruce tbh. We're essentially trading Pick 30 for Bruce, since Saints probably finish bottom 6 again next year. I think it's more likely just Pick 30 and Pick 41 for Bruce and nothing coming back, if anything.

I like the pickups, but still no KPD which would be worrying for next year. We've done extremely well in the last half of the season running Cordy, Young and Trengove, but I'm not confident that it's sustainable, and Trengove will probably drop off a cliff in the next year or two. Need a good, early to mid 20s KPD that we can keep for a long time. Really wish the Dougal Howard rumour is true, but I highly doubt it eventuates

I would stay right away from Carlisle. He's a desease in terms of professionalism and what is required to be elite at the top level. He has great talent but isn't worth it. Your club is building again and you don't want another bloke bringing good young blokes down.

That is why I was surprised you guys went for Stringer, you went into remission then went straight back out and bought another pack of ciggies!

I’m also happy to drive Gowers to Adelaide just to make sure he gets there safe 😉

what we have lacked up until recently is contested marking in our 50
We are still ranked 15th in the competition for Contested Marks despite having the number one ranked
player for Contested Marks in the competition, Aaron Naughton. Saying that not many teams rely on
contested marking these days preferring risk management in relation to their ball movement to avoid
those pesky goals from turnover.

We might try it but Saints fans say he’s really poor in defence.

If Adelaide are having a fire sale, for the love of God, please get Tom Lynch.

Much much much prefer him to Bruce. Fits superbly with our young key forwards.
Fully agree Fronk. Schache will develop into a really strong 3rd Tall in similar vein to Gunstan at the Hawks.

Given the mobility of the 3 tall we are talking about really am unsure as to why anyone would think they could not work together and be dangerous both in the air and at ground level, however in saying that Bruce would also compliment the other 2 in my opinion
