Before MacraeBF or ummmmbont jump on here, I'd like to be the first to claim a super trade that is brewing:
Lipinski to Pies
Lynch to Cats
Constable to Port
Ladhams to Swans
Dawson to Crows
Walker to Hawks
Ceglar to Dogs
Young to Blues
Casboult to Suns
MacPherson to North
Dumont to Hawks
Mitchell to Tigers
Coleman-Jones to North
Tarrant to Tigers
Cotchin to Blues
SPS to Eagles
Brander to Freo
Cerra to Blues
O'Brien to Hawks
O'Brien to Dogs
Sweet to Cats
Clark to Eagles
Jones to Pies
Cox to Suns
Brodie to Hawks
Gunshot to Dogs

It's almost over the line, the sticking point is, of course, Dodoro wanting a player or picks, even though Bombres aren't even involved. Other than that, as good as done, I just have to be careful not to detail the 47 picks involved with these trades to maintain the anonymity of the 9 list managers who leaked them to me.

Close but Gunston back issue may see him retire

There's room for all of them. I think if it weren't for Gardner's injury concerns & we hadn't built up finals chemistry with a two-KPD structure, all of Keath/Gardner/Cordy/Wood would have played in the grand final. Keath/Gardner/O'Brien/Croz, with Duryea/Dale/Daniel rotating through, isn't too tall or immobile I don't think.

Having said that: do not want O'Brien.

Add in Williams, plus maybe O’Brien and ( a lot of us think hbf is his best position) Richards, that is more defenders than can go into the available positions. How do we fit them all in????
( Plus look for Khamis , Butler and maybe Baku to request trades at end of 2022)

I take your point, but realistically our back 6/7 have not performed as well as we'd like them to. There is room for growth there, whether that's internal or external - and that's probably going to mean that some of these guys who we see as AFL standard are going to find themselves out of the team, and that might be for the best.

I feel like every year we have this discussion on here where everyone says "How do we fit them all in???" and suggests they're all best 22 and have to be in the side. Fast forward through the season and we yet again lament how poorly our defence functions and questions why we're targeting defenders in the off-season.

In my opinion, the fact is that while many of these guys have AFL-level attributes and strengths, we have not been able to get them to function at a good enough standard without considerable help from the midfield. That might be system, or it might be personnel - but either way, we can't be afraid to tinker or bring players in if we think they have something to offer.

It's very hard to measure that - they were statistically the best in the comp for about 2/3rds of the year, but our mids did roll back to help out quite a lot.
I think in the past few years our back 6 has worked best when we intercept mark for each other and with Wood in decline and Crozier out of form that was sorely lacking in the back half of the year.
O'Brien looks 'okish' in the role, but as a freebie it seems like a no-brainer.

Buku and Khamis are the same person, but if anyone can trade one player multiple times, it's Sam Power!

I've added to my post but the key point in what you say is, "our mids did roll back to help out quite a lot."

The team that beat us in the grand final had a back six that functioned better than ours without needing that level of support. When we had midfield dominance they repelled it again and again. When it was reversed, we fell apart. We can't resist adding to that part of the ground just because we have eight or nine guys that are 'good enough' for AFL level. We simply have to find a way to get better, even if it means some of those guys are out of the side.

Pies currently have 3056 points with the Gold Coast Trade
Would feel like our pick in the 70s would go to them for their third rounder for Lipniski

Um, what the hell are Gold Coast doing?
Suns have a lot of players signed for next year they can't trade out
So they be going into the draft just selecting three players
Since their Academy only really have one Draftable player this year

Anyone doing daily trade summaries this year?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from our perspective at this stage:

- Lipinski requested trade to Pies
- Young requested trade to Blues
- Sweet exploring options
- Ladhams exploring options (unconfirmed rumour he may request Swans)
- we're into O'Brien (Tim), free agent, but so are Port
- we've been linked to Ceglar, but so have Cats

Have I missed any?

Edit: thanks to Mojorisin and Doggy I've edited the Ladhams one.

They have to trim their list down after being given permission to have extra players last year. They had way too many spots to begin with, and are now sending everything into next year. Puts them in a good spot to trade up next year. I imagine they'll still do nothing with it and we'll see yet more priority picks in the coming years regardless

Has ladhams officially nominated Sydney?

I don't believe Ladhams has chosen Shitney yet at all. They just have some interest.

If he wants to be a first ruck he wouldn't go there. If he does, he's stupid
