Big footy were you’re only as good as your last game and that better be ****ing good. Or all of the cockroaches come out of the woodwork and start chattering away.

This place is cooked.

Re the smith trade - if Geelong don't want to part with a F1 then a player could be thrown in. I'd be after Shuan Mannagh. A quick, small forward that can slot into 22 straight away.

So our initial ask could be 2024 1st, 2nd and Mannagh as a starting point.

Interesting 12 months coming up for Marra. Only signed a 2 year extension. Given how we've been burnt recently I don't think we should be going into 2026 without him signing an extension. Either sign him up at some point next year, which is obviously the preferred option or trade him at the end 2025.

One thing to note, this argument that we don’t have enough for Houston really falls flat if he nominates us.

This should be known after the Dunkley deal, if he nominates us the deal either gets done for unders or Port have to go to the PSD and get nothing.

He’s contracted unfortunately

He's contracted for years.

Thr PSD rubbish doesn't work

This would be more like the dunkley to essendon trade request given Houston is contracted. Port, like we did, will ask for overs and no deal gets done. If Houston was uncontracted then that's a different story...

Don’t really care about how a player enjoys themselves off field if they’re not hurting anyone else, if it’s even remotely true.

Do care that we’re soon headed for another young gun being out of contract prior to free agency and being shovelled shit in another trade negotiation.

A proposed trade for Macrea would see St.kilda send their third round pick (currently 43) and a future third to the dogs for Jack macrea and full Salary.
Frees up some salary cap space but still be sad seeing the great man in another jumper

Considering him and Cordy are close this doesn't surprise me.

They need to hang onto JUH until around 2028 and take full advantage of the compensation from Tasmania. Any output we get from him between now and then is a bonus. Trading him anywhere before 2028 makes no sense as the return wouldn't be astronomical.

Work ethic is terrible and the factors of his private life that is now starting to rear it's ugly head outweighs the possibilities of what he can produce on field. You compare his worst games and his best games and they are so far apart. If Tasmania were a 2026 team, we'd be in poll position.

He is a 22 year old key forward. Having a gap between best and worst games isn't exactly surprising or unexpected, the gap will close as he ages. He is in contract and would receive offers similar to those of Naughton and Andrew. A return would have to be astronomical.

That seems pretty fair to me. 24 even getting pushed back a bit seems too high
