I'd be happy with Lovett + 23/39 for 12.

I'd be happy with that but if a PP was offered for Lovett, I'd take that first.

If either of them deals don't go through and we don't get an early second round pick or late first rounder that we're after, I'm quite happy for us to hang onto him for another year.

A first rounder would be a nice result.

Clubs interested: Sydney, Fremante, Eagles. The only problem i see, is that Freo and the Eagles can offer a late first round pick, but would be interesting to see what they throw up.

A first rounder can't be ruled out completely, particularly when your dealing with Sydney.

How good would it be if we can their pick 12? :D

Having said that, I'd be just as happy if Lovett stayed a Bomber.

Is there a way we could trade Lovett for pick 12 without giving up pick 23?

Lovett and another player for 12?

It would be great to have pick 5,12,23.

I heard that Sydney were interested in Stanton but trading both Lovett and Stanton for pick twelve would be very foolish.

Lovett + Dyson for 12.

Or on a more serious note, Lovett + Hislop for 12 and maybe Sydney's 4th round pick.

Sounds good to me, the Lovett + Dyson for 12 that is. I'd like to see Tom for another season, see what he's got.

I have heard Hislop re-signed, anyone??

I hate to say it but I dont think we are going to get a first rounder for Lovett, the Lovett + 23 for 12 would be a real result for us. If not expect a 2nd rounder, I think he will be traded though!!

I couldn't see Sydney accepting it. They have more than enough players similar to Hislop. They'd want a player that they are generally interested in.

They were apparantly interested in him, though.

Lovett + pick 23 to Sydney for pick 12 + 30

Pick 5 - Hurley
Pick 12 - Swift

:)

That would give us picks 5, 12, 30 and 39 inside the top 40 and considering the depth of this years draft that would be a great result.

Put any Lovett related stuff in here.

Sydney seem to be the front runners, and pick 12 or O'Keefe seem to be the targets.

I'd be happy with Lovett + 23/39 for 12.
23 + Lovett should be able to snare pick 12. Initially I wanted an extra pick thrown in my Sydney but Im not sure if that is plausible. Their 3rd rounder was my line of thinking. So in essence:
Lovett + 23 for Pick 12 + 46.

That way we don't have to utilise a later pick because we are trading 2 for 2 instead of getting the quality Pick 12 but then having to use 55 and perhaps another pick after that.

I just wrote something similar in another thread. Couldn’t agree more with using Lovett and picks to upgrade to pick 12. We would then be able to target the two areas that need the most attention like maybe draft Hurley for the defense then Swift with pick 12 as a inside/outside midfielder. The more I see and read of Swift the more I like the thought of him in a Bombers jumper, seems like that balanced midfielder we need to off set the one dimensional midfielders we have.

forget pick12, i want Ryan O'Keefe.

Lovett + pick39 for O'Keefe

the history of picks 10-20 are pretty much hit-and-miss -> and mainly "handy" players rather than stars. i don't want pick 12.
O'Keefe will be 28 next year. i think he's worth a mid 1st round draft pick (8-10). i rate Lovett late 1st round (14-16), so an extra 3rd rounder should sweeten the deal.

but in the strength of this draft, that 10-20 range will hold some gems

I honestly don't know why some people want O'Keefe, he will be 28 in January, so he will only have about 2-3 good years in him. We will possibly be a flag contender by 2011-2012. Do we really need him in our team?
