If we were to be involved in a three way trade, which I don't think we will, I'd much prefer to Kieran Jack over Parker.
Has been shadowed by the likes of jetta, goodes and kennedy but I really love the way he goes about it. Can play a lock down role well, smart player and positions himself very well. He would be a massive upgrade on hocking. Having said that, never going to happen.

Keiran Jack, the guy who was pretty unlucky to miss out on AA selection and is one of the Swans best mids? No way we could afford him(Trade Wise).

Acknowledged that we wouldn't get him but he is the type of player we require. Rate him very highly

Apparently we're looking at a midfielder, ruckman and a defender, just don't know if it's a key defender.

Would that mean that hille is leaving? Or are we just looking for a bit more depth

Would take Parker for Pears every day of the week. Tough nut hard at the man/ball knows how to get the ball the kind of player you want on your team when you go into battle, will be better then Caddy.

Imagine if we got offered Steinberg for Parker

...sorry, shouldn't have gone their again.

I'm open to trading one of Hooker/Pears but
a) Definitely not both
and
b) I'm not sure which one.

Pears best was better, but it's just been that long since we've seen it. I know he was probably very much down on confidence coming back from injury, but him playing this year was hard to watch.

For the last 2 years, Hooker's first half of the season has been very good, but in the 2nd half of the season has been dominated in a few games. I'd love to see him played as the 2nd key defender, which would mean Hurley or Carlisle would have to take the best forward.

As I said, not opposed to trading one of them if it's a decent offer, but I'm fine with holding onto both.

We do know that the Pears/Parker trade originated with a speculative tweet from Emma Qualye, right? She was being a fan, not a journalist when she made it, it's gone from there. Emma is great, probably the best going around, but in no way was this intended to be used as news or inside info.

She has also said that Adl have had a look at the medical records of Pears and Gumby, so although an off the cuff comment, there was some thought behind it.

Yes, that's correct. She then made a bigfooty worthy tweet that was meant for discussion, not publication as fact or to be used as a rumour. This is not what she intended her tweet to mean, it's been laughable at how people have chosen to take it. In fact, later on she clarified that her tweet was such.

I think people know that it's just a hypothetical... I mean it's not like it's been moved to the 'official rumors' thread.
.

I probably am having a more generic shot at posters not just in this thread. It's been across all BF and several other forums and been reported as gospel. That's more my issue. She made a personal tweet and it's gone viral and reported out of context. It was never meant as a shot at anyone, it's just a personal vent of mine, sorry if it was taken the wrong way :)

haha no probs. It is the silly season.

You've nailed it. Everyone has a best friends brothers mates nephew who knows a guy who saw a player at a club and said [Insert trade rumour] at this time of the year.

Trolling of other clubs has been an easy target for the first timers and the regulars. I would enjoy t more if it wasnt so obvious. Back in my day, trolls used to be clever :D

Pittard's and interesting one. Pretty highly rated during the 09 Draft but doesn't appear to have come on as expected. Lightly framed still and we have a few similar midfield types already floating around in Ross, Dalgleish, Merrett and Kavanagh.

Jacobs could be a go though. Apparently he trained with John Quinn prior to getting drafted so there is a link to the Bombers.

It's late and I've had a few, so forgivess for the hazy memory....

....but Pittard from memory started off with injury concerns and just as he was coming back got sick (galandular...or maybe it was sick then injured:confused:) - from memory when he came back midway through his 2nd year he played some bloody good footy (without a pre season) for about 6-7 weeks, then missed the rest of the year.

Maybe a Port supporter or someone who watches Port as I do who isn't half cut, could clarify the cronilogical order of how his career unfolded...but i certainly remember a month/month and a half where he was playing good enough footy for me to think he was on the verge of "arriving".

This post sums up exactly what I've been saying to my mates (and better than I've been able to articulate it :D tbh) - agree with all of this. Great post.

Bombers boy said it well - Parker is a much better get than Caddy.

I know its Emma musing - but Adelaide/Sydney are about the two best clubs for trading.

Sydney will have to give up a good player to get Tippett - That's a given.

Last thing is that if Gumby/Pears leave - It's imperative that Hille stays for another year.

Adelaide are looking at Grundy in the trade, he's a SA boy too!

Bit behind the times as I've been away for the last couple of days with the Mrs & kids!! Can anyone please fill me in with the Monfries situation?? Heard he signed fri the sat heard Hirdy say he was still a required player? Gone or not?? Cheers
I dont think anyone knows for sure TBH-
Channel Seven reported a few days ago that he was gone to Port but nothing from either club confirming this, I think the general consensus is that he wont be in Red and Black next year-he may be traded instead of leaving via FA

Yeah cheers, last I heard from the port side of things was that they didn't want to get him through FA as then they would lose their concessions for losing Pearce & Chaplin! So they were going to chase him through the trade period starting Monday? So I'm guessing if that's the case this would suit us better cause then we can receive something for him?? Also anything on the Gumby side of things??
