Dangerfield went for 9+28 after a 22 brownlow vote season for the Crows. Shiel is good but is a step below Dangerfield.

Yeh look thats a bad example considering the circumstances, that deal was done because the compo the crows were going to get for danger leaving as a FA was crap so they approached the cats and told them they would match.

Dangerfield wasn’t contracted though, he was a RFA. Big difference.

whys that? Good chance we improve & next years first is midish teens, this years is now pick 9, not huge overs for mine.

We wont get Shiel for pick 9 & the Giants need to free up their cap so wont be looking to sign anyone of real value.

I like that the deciding factor for Shiel was down to who could get the deal done... and chose Essendon. Coz we're the 'easy to trade with' club.

I feel like he wanted to go to the hawks, but they couldn't create anymore loopholes in the trading rules to get it to work.
