Isn’t Setterfield contracted until the end of 2020? Can’t imagine him leaving would give GWS the salary cap relief they need (assuming he is on a Laverde style second contract of $230ish...only frees up $130k on a first year pick). Been reported that Lobb is on $700-800k. Get rid of him and get Preusse in on 1/3 of that. Get some decent picks and salary cap relief for Shiel.

GWS have encouraged him to scope out a few VIC clubs, he’s already down checking them out (according to the media)

What an odd choice! If he’s playing second to Goldy, does he expect a difference with Gawn?

Of course he expects a difference, about 200k a year difference??? Anyway at this stage innuendo, I personally would’ve thought cats or hawks even saints would be a better fit for him if they could offer the cash.

I'm not a big user of twitter, but can anyone suggest who are the better few to follow at this time of year? Ones that tend to know whats going on and aren't just throwing every dart they can get their hands on?
Honestly, Patrick Keane. The only trades that count are the ones he announces.

Some thougts I have been having regarding trades lately.
1. If Martin comes at a reasonable price (ie NOT PICK 8) then sure will take. Not really an area that we are desperate for so meh.

2. Settersfield. Again nice looking player and would definitely take but pretty sure we have that position covered. What he provides that Parish wont I'm not sure on.

3. I'm ok if we draft an inside bull with pick 8 or throw a decent deal at Shiel but not the sink. If we are competing with Hawthorne for him I think that puts us in the box seat as I think that cardboard cut out of a club will be more focused on tall kpp.

4. Wake me up when something actually happens.

Regards

What the **** is wrong with the football landscape?!!?!?!?!
It's mostly the media landscape that is problematic I think. The ability to self-publish unfiltered crap on social media particularly, although the kind of media that has checks and balances on it is hardly any better as a result of trying to compete with social media.

Happens every year. Only thing I'm surprised about is that the sun's haven't said they want 3 first rounders.

The Suns really should have said they will be matching any offer to Lynch when he said he was leaving. Would have stopped the mass walk out.

Given the exodus of talent facing the Suns, makes sense to price Martin out of the market by demanding two first rounders.

A players value is determined by what a club is prepared to pay.

Guaranteed, no club will give up two first rounders for him.

If the tweet holds any merit (which is unlikely), it just sets the scene that they won’t let him go easily.
