Cats & Weaglea have an “in principle” agreement over Kelly. Love the way they get the deal done and get on with life (&other targets).
We will piss fart around until 8.20 next Wednesday to get the same deal we could do today.
Once papley trade drops then we are in business. Will be interesting to see if we try and snag J Martin

So?
Except for people who click refresh on trade radio 24/7 for the next week, there’s literally zero harm or difference whether a trade gets done yesterday or next Wednesday.

I disagree. One trade is not enough. Setup your week and get multiple trades done

In this particular case I disagree, the Eagles are going to frame the market for us, and I’d be pointing to whatever the deal for Kelly is and going ‘I want that and more’.

In my opinion Daniher is worth the 2 first round picks + more that the Eagles are about to stump up so they’re going to set precedent for us.

Kelly deal likely to get done tomorrow. If papley drops we need to move. We still need a ruck, KPF and a mid.

Apparently Collingwood created their own rumour about Mason Cox in a bid to test the waters and see what he is worth.
They need to free up $ on that salary cap

In an absolute perfect world, my ideal scenario would be;

OUT OF CONTRACT:
Mitch Brown (1 year)
Trent Mynott (retained)
Tom Jok (retained)
Sam Draper (ugraded)

Michael Hartley (Free Agency Rights exercised)
Jake Long (delisted)
Zac Clarke (delisted)

TRADES:
Essendon out: Joe Daniher, Pick 37
Essendon in: Pick 5, Pick 9

Essendon out: Orazio Fantasia
Essendon in: Dougal Howard, Port Adelaide 2020 second round selection

Essendon out: Pick 65
Essendon in: Josh Jenkins

Delisted Free Agent: Zac Smith

DRAFT:
Pick 5 - Brodie Kemp (midfielder/utility)
Pick 9 - Devon Robertson (midfielder)
Pick 31 - Trent Rivers (utility)
Pick 45 - Jake Riccrdi (Key position forward)
Pick 70 - Sam Draper (Rookie elevation)

Rookie selection 1: Josh Shute (outside mid)
Rookie selection 2: Riley Bowman (fwd/ruck)
Rookie selection 3: ??? (gen defender)

Next Generation/Cat B: Adam Tipungwuti (small fwd)

BEST 22 (AFL)

BACKS: Ambrose - Hurley - Francis
Half Backs: Saad - Hooker - McKenna
Centre: Redman - Merrett - McGrath
Half Forward: Stringer - McKernan - Smith
Forward: AMT - Jenkins - Snelling
Rucks: Bellchambers - Shiel - Heppell
I/C: Gleeson - Guelfi - Zaharakis - Kyle Langford

(VFL)

Backs: Ridley - BZT - Robertson
Half Back: Mutch - Howard - Zaharakis
Centre: Jok - Mynott - Ham
Half Forward: Mosquito - Stewart - Laverde
Forwards: Tipungwuti Jnr - Brown - Riccardi

Come at me but got bored tonight so yeah.. Might get roasted for letting one of our most dangerous small forwards go for a depth best 22 KPD (Howard) but he could be a key in the future.

no roasting here. I agree.

Howard is better then depth imo. He has pretty upside.

If I have pick 15-25 and he was available in the draft. I would pull thetrigger.

This is the hardest part to work out. Jenkins for 2 years should be out first priority. If Howard nominates us then we should try to get a deal done. He will form a big part of our defence for the next 7 years+.

You think 5 would be better than Wright and Martin though? I understand your point but is there a sure thing at 5?
I think Kemp can be better than Wright and Martin.
I don't really rate Wright tbh. Has only ever kicked above 3 goals once. He's still young, but I don't see him as a suitable replacement for Daniher.
Martin is meh. Doesn't really address a need.

Both Wright and Martin have been dropped multiple times this year, apparently for laziness. I prefer to take the pick to the draft.

Holy meatballs!!

Just had a look though, he has kicked 2 goals or more in 26 games which is what you want from a contributor. The Suns would rate him higher though. Im not selling a high commodity for someone who will simply play a role when we could get it for cheaper (pick wise) in Jenkins.
