We can always trade for an earlier second.

Perhaps a swap of Sydney’s second with one of ours in the Daniher trade.
If we get 5 and 9 from swans for Joe I’d do something like this

GWS get pick 5

Essendon get pick 18 and Bonar

That pick 5 they will hope comes before a Tom Green bid

I wouldn’t have thought they rated him that highly, or needed him that much.

Would’ve thought a pick in mid 20s would get it done, or maybe 9 with 18 bonar and a 4th rounder coming back

No idea how St Kilda think pick 6, 32 (for Bruce), 37 (for Stevens) and 59 is going to get Hill, Howard, Zak Jones and Paddy Ryder....

They are making a lot of promises they don't have the cash to cash and they'll be avoiding the draft which is a big mistake.
Plus they’ll need next year’s first possibly for Ben King.

They have mids but not many like Bonar who is tall and athletic. If we could get him for a pick in the 20s I’d do it in a heartbeat

If Adelaide do not beat us to the Punch with the ex Carlton pick.

Hoping more that we hold on to Joe now.

Benefits:

Could change his mind if he and club have a good year

Swans paying Buddy $1.5m next two years so can’t offer too much that we can’t match next year.

In the very small chance that Cameron may leave Giants end of next year and Joe still wants to leave, then both Giants and us will stil be ‘in the window’ and both lose an excellent player but pick up excellent mature player.

Would love to keep Joe. I’ll absolutely take the risk of getting a lot less for him next year for the weigh up another 12 months to try and sway his mind.

Raz - I’m certain he’s gone at some point. So if he stays...will be a little bit harder to be excited. I suppose that might be the modern trend though, having players on your team knowing they won’t be there long term

Just traded up to pick 4, they know if we have pick 5 we'll be bidding on tom green. Smart trading by the giants, going to have 2 top 5 picks in the draft.

That’s incredible timing if so haha

Cameron or otherwise, 12 months to plan for a replacement is massive. These things take time.
