If you could get that forward line fit and firing it would trouble any side. Cameos from Hooker, and forward half pressure from dev would be the icing on the cake.
Im glad there is a chance for it in 2020.
I feel our backline and forward line can be a point of difference come finals if we get it fit.

The brown call could also be a sign that the coaches have identified that Langford isnt a mid. If trained and played as a forward Langford could do the brown role of a km clocking, working to the wings, mobile forward. Both a beautiful kicks. Langford a nice mark. Although brown is a few cms taller he never played as a KPF. He was a flanker.

It’s a win win.

We have identified we need a more natural midfielder and play a suitable fwd, well, fwd

On how did this year work out with similar ruck stocks ?

You can't have a million rucks in case they are all injured - And you can do little if Clarke is not up to standard.

And most other clubs have run with 4 genuine rucks.

Well I am wrapped with this more ruthless EFC. Something we desperately needed.

Agreed. Brown has been handy but has only really performed against midrange and below teams. You can’t carry players who don’t compete.

This is a move that will have genuine negative impacts next year.

There’s being ruthless and there’s being stupid, our delistings this year have been more stupid than they have ruthless

It is a decision that will potentially win us less games next year but will allow us to set standards of competing that hopefully allow us to build a premiership brand of football. Sacrificing for the chance of achieving greatness is always a risk worth taking.

What kind of standards?

Brown was by all reports and from everything I’ve seen a diligent, intelligent, consummate professional who knew his game back to front and played his role absolutely perfectly. For mine he was in the conversation for the most underrated player in the league this year. The perfect complimentary player.

feels like a mistake, ruthless for the sake of being ruthless.

He played 16 games for 16 tackles. Who knows whether or not he was asked to tackle more but that may have been 1 issue.

Damn, didn’t realise it was that low.

If only it was 1.1 a game like Ben Brown it 1.4 a game like Tom Lynch or Hawkins.

I don’t like it when the club shits on my leg and tells me it’s a brown kitten.

That would be terrible no matter what they called it. The difference between those blokes and brown is the amount of goals they kick, contested marking and the fact that they play key forward. Mitch was a goal a game flanker. I feel like Langford can play his role as effectively quite easily.

If only M. Brown averaged 2.9 goals a game and 1.6 contested marks a game like B. Brown or 2.5 goals a game and 2.2 contested markes a game like Tom Lynch.

Hell I would take the 2.3 goals and 1.6 contested marks by Hawkins.

Nope. We got 1.3 goals and 0.5 contested marks a game from a guy people are upset we delisted because of KPF depth...

**** me dead.

B.Brown, Lynch and Hawkins are good for 50+ goals a year and took more than 8 contested marks this season, which means you can forgive them for the lack of tackles.

However you cant say either of those two points apply to Mitch Brown. Odd comparison to make, personally.
