The kid has spent 5 months in an elite AFL environment, training daily and play in consistently in the NEAFL.

If he hadn't been picked up, he would have spent that time working/studying, training twice a week and playing TAC cup.

Surely the first options makes him far more appealing as a prospect, the kid got more development in that 5 momonth'sat Sydney then he would have at the Eastern Ranges.

Please. He's at least a legitimate ruckman. They had English and Sweet. We had Bellcho, Clarke and Draper.

If he hadve played out the year in the underage comps, he would’ve played a full season with Eastern through to the grand final. Plus he was in metro squad for champs and would’ve played most games and then he probably goes top 50. I think his case will make managers of kids who don’t get picked up this year due to injury or whatever think twice about nominating and instead playing the year out at nab league level.

Can argue about their individual merit as players until the cows come home but 3 genuine ruckmen on the list is enough. We went through a 23 game season this year and had at least one of them available for selection for 22 of those weeks.

We’ve already made a move to significantly strengthen the area by adding Phillips and we have our heir apparent to Bellchambers in Draper.

Never heard of him or seen his stats but Freo seem to have a number of KPFs on their list so maybe he's been moved on for that reasons rather than spudishness

The brown call could also be a sign that the coaches have identified that Langford isnt a mid. If trained and played as a forward Langford could do the brown role of a km clocking, working to the wings, mobile forward. Both a beautiful kicks. Langford a nice mark. Although brown is a few cms taller he never played as a KPF. He was a flanker.

If you could get that forward line fit and firing it would trouble any side. Cameos from Hooker, and forward half pressure from dev would be the icing on the cake.
