I thought Sims was Metro's best and Urquhart and Allan were the two best mids in the game.

Jagga's good but low hurt factor. No line-breaking and not much go-forward at all. Gets it, yes. Clean, yes. Neat user, yes. Goes sideways and/or short a lot, yes.

But he's better than Smillie. I'm calling that bloke a bust.

Its a shame how shit he has been during the champs, was hoping he would con North into using pick 1 on him giving us a free run at FOS.

Jagga Smith has been fantastic during the champs. I don't understand the dislike from quite a few. He is a ball magnet who is a fantastic link man and sets up a lot of plays. He would be a real Lambert clone but with even more agility.

I have to agree. I thought he was BOG. As you said “he is a ball magnet that brings others into the game”. Why are others preferred? FOS may have dominated last year but does not have the body of work and would need to show a bit before years end.

Could we end up with a similar draft hand to 2004 when we had 5 picks inside the top 20? ….. hopefully this time we would do better?
Hopefully, but outside the first 5 picks of the 2004 draft it was one of the worst drafts with only a few exceptions (and even in that first 5 we picked the only dud of the first 5 with one of our 2 picks).

By looks of it going to be alot of elite mids to pick hope we don't fk it up
The tall forwards are coming fast too.

Whitlock x 2, Sims, Faull, Shanahan, Nicholls, Gerreyn plus Welsh and Murphy as 3rd talls.

Watched the Dandenong vs Bendigo match on the Coates Talent league app which has commentary. After a quite first half, Zayden Lockwood playing in the ruck had a good 2nd half. Kicked his first goal for the Pioneers to level the scores deep in the last quarter. Was also named in the best players for the Pioneers.

Looks very raw so can't see any clubs drafting him in the top 40. Very agile for a big man, played like a tall midfielder at times. Laced out Jobe Shannahan from a centre clearance in the 3rd quarter (Jobe missed the shot at goal).

Who do you see as the best of them?

I like Faull's aggression in the air and on the ground, but haven't seen him take a big contested mark yet.

Probably out of Sims and Faull. Sims contested marking yesterday was fantastic so I'd probably lean him at this point.

Luke Urquhart continues to push his case to be taken in the first round of the draft with his stellar play in this years Champs series. He was red hot early, seeming to win every center bounce clearance in the opening quarter which lead to WA getting on top in the contest. He was quieter after halftime as WA increasingly got overrun by Metro's greater depth, although he did get involved in a couple of notable and impressive scoring chains. His kicking was off for most of the game, highlighted by some extreme shanks.

Langford is apparently poor athletically.

I'd go Lalor/Sims if went down that path. I do like Travaglia though
Speed or tank ?

Tank can be improved but i would want to see what his speed is like he looked great in the VC game last week
Beast.

But Lalor is the player i want most in this draft
