It’s all Luke McDonalds fault.I can’t believe we’ve reached the stage of the offseason where folks spend their posts bemoaning that highly paid professional athletes have a one hour commute for a few weeks.
Apropos of nothing, the commute to Bundoora has gotta be a pain in the ass for our players, many of whom have bought houses/rent in the Inner-west / Inner north-west region (Ascot Vale, Kensington, Moonee Ponds etc.)
I bloody hate having to drive out to La Trobe/anywhere near there. It's a s**t drive.
The majority of our players live in Port Melbourne, Elwood and Albert Park actually.

They gave up a lot to do that.According to Rawlings we had him next on our list after Duursma. WC had him second. Sometimes players slide. It's a shame that we didn't take advantage of that and Adelaide did.
Lets be very clear, that poster gets a lot wrong! The majority of our players live in Port Melbourne, Elwood and Albert Park actually.

If you couldn't navigate your way to Bundoora for a month or so.......**** me....I can’t believe we’ve reached the stage of the offseason where folks spend their posts bemoaning that highly paid professional athletes have a one hour commute for a few weeks.
it’s literally the easiest drive, stop complaining
I have my test next month, but I have been literally driving from the city through north Melb to the north a few times a week and it’s so easy, just hop on the freeway.Congratulations on getting your license.

If only Joseph Conrad was still alive to write about itIf you couldn't navigate your way to Bundoora for a month or so.......* me....
Imagine big Buckets, poor campaigner would've got lost and never seen again.

Players have taken up the issue with the Membership Department, if they can't resolve it a terse email will be sent to Jen Watts, as a last resort they will ring up SEN on North Melbourne Membership Drive day and ask supporters to chip in for petrol money.Apropos of nothing, the commute to Bundoora has gotta be a pain in the ass for our players, many of whom have bought houses/rent in the Inner-west / Inner north-west region (Ascot Vale, Kensington, Moonee Ponds etc.)

I suspect the logistics of finding 4 - 6 suitable AFL standard ovals with the requisite facilities such as change rooms, rehab, media rooms etc. and then hiring each of those for only 1 or 2 weeks each is probably why. With Arden st out of commission for a while - I don know why we couldn’t alternate training sessions around each side of Melb - so more fans could attend

They look great, despite what some poster's think, it makes perfect sense why they're training there. The new facilities at la Trobe are mint
