AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
For those getting excited about the prospect of Weitering being turned into a forward, there's this quote from Dale Amos on the club site:
"Across Marchbank, Weitering, Plowman, Docherty and Byrne in particular, they are the younger guys in our backline coming through that we’re hopeful will play a stack of footy together."
While he may go forward occasionally, that would seem to indicate the club sees him as a defender for the long term.
Not me. It's not that I want Weitering forward above all, but I'd like a situation where we could truly consider it.
Weitering will make for a wonderful forward and add the smarts we're currently lacking up front.
Silvagni is a smart player but I'm not sure he'll develop into a smart, forward leader. He may though.
Weitering plays ahead of the game and his instruction to our forwards would be invaluable.
EFA - JW > HTI really do think Harry Taylor is Geelong's Weitering. Play predominantly in the backline and then throw him forward should we need to.

When he fixes his postureI wonder when Kerridge turns back into Bruce Banner...
When the siren sounds and they bounce the ball.
He's got some guns that dude.
I reckon he can play that position and do it effectively. Just not sure he's a natural CHF/FF . I've always felt the best big forwards are creative (flamboyant even)leaders who demand the footy. Was it the Hawthorn game we threw Weiters game forward? Thought it worked well that day

But maybe he's the Josh Kennedy type. Hope it works.
Shit tatts defy explanation and on sooooo many people, many of them completely normal.View attachment 320338
Paycheck must have lost a bet.
There's no other excuse for the mess he has on his chest.
If Weitering gets a bit of rotation forward it will mean 2 things
1. The backline is totally dominating; and
2. One of Phillips/Kreuzer is a write off , Casboult and Jones are write offs, Jacksh is a write off...and all these blokes (any of them really) have to be able to do is bring the ball to ground if they cant lead properly and take a mark...
too much to ask?
