Lord would play with Hewett, not instead of him
Don’t really see how that works. Cripps Walsh Cerra pick 3 Hewett and lord? Not many dual position players there and that’s not including the other rotations of Elijah fog possibly doc who can pinch in there. 6 mids not including wingmen or ruckmen is a lot

I’m happy to see it though, just means someone is getting sacrificed somewhere else

One could spend time forward, one on the bench, but would be great if all are available. I can't see Hewett missing for Lord though

Elijah, Doc could certainly still do some rotations, not sure Fog is part of that list

Perhaps, but it's about the right fit of the selected 23

Formally checking in for the offseason. Get at it, boys.

Can't wait to see who puts their hand up to play R1 (Jagga aside, who's a monty).

Big watch for me on Doc, Lord, SOS, Mots and Haynes. They're the five (plus Jagga) who I expect to push for selection and have a close eye on.

I'd add Moir too.

Will White from Carlton VFL invited to train for SSP role too. Small forward. Finished 3rd in best and fairest.
it's meant to be 2 potential SSPs per role (it's a contracted position defined by the AFLPA EBA with a small salary). We have Carroll, Durdin, McMahon and Grainger-Barrass in the spots already.

it is worth noting that we have no obligation to give those guys a list position or for them to only entertain offers from us. White would be doing for 'free' or a settlement out of cap or one of the incumbent four has withdrawn

Interesting Ollie mentioned spending more time behind the ball. Not sure to what extent that was meant but sounded like he really enjoyed playing there. Didn't sound overly optimistic about being an onballer in 2025, though I'm sure that's where he'd love to be playing. Mentioned spending some time inside over preseason but more to work on his body work.

Both boys mentioned Cooper Lord as a standout in terms of "training the house down" over offseason

Where was that reported? I couldn't find anything.

Carlton (two list spots)
Liam McMahon (Carlton VFL – formerly on Collingwood’s list)
Denver Grainger-Barras (delisted by Hawthorn)
Sam Durdin (delisted by Carlton at the end of 2024 season)

Will White (Carlton VFL)
